I have also requested the replacement disk, but the only response from Warner has been the automatic courtesy formula: "Thank you for your comments! Your feedback is very important to us"
This is normal? Warner has replied something specific to someone (request for proof of purchase and...
According to the review in The Digital Bits:
Reviewer’s Note: Originally I posted a note about a claim that readers had made about a shot that was missing from the theatrical version, which I mistakenly said was present. It turns out that I was looking at the wrong shot. I have gone back and...
About the mentioned "overall consensus", with all due respect to all personal opinion (and therefore subjective), I like to know where is collected and published the "objective observations of the overall consensus".Could it be contributed a link to that source of the index of "general...
It's very unfortunate, but in Spain there are several companies that sell dvds in appalling conditions: Regasa is one of them. It's preferable to avoid buying any film marketed by this company because they are usually very poor.
Is there new and encouraging news about this release?
Surprisingly, Sony seems to have decided to release in BD "Annie". If that means favoring "Annie" at the expense of the far superior "Oliver!" will be a very unfortunate decision.
I'm trying to confirm the languages and subtitles included in "Ink" [Blu ray], but I can not. I found two different back covers: one indicates that it includes English and Spanish subtitles, the other says nothing about languages...
There are very few classic Columbia/Sony's Blu Ray. It is absurd that are not yet available big hits like "Oliver!" Nor is understood that Warner will not edit "Cabaret" (the dvd is not anamorphic!), or "My Fair Lady" in Blu Ray.
Thank you very much for the answer. I was surprised by the information about the inclusion of subtitles in Spanish and French. It must be an mistake in the review:
ALL FILMS
Aspect Ratio: 1.33:1 (Even THERE'S ALWAYS TOMORROW, Which Is Not the proper aspect ratio)
Color / B & W: Black & White...
Unfortunately, as is usual in editions Impulse / Warner, the quality of master used is very poor and without anamorphic enhancement.
Here you can see screen caps of the Impulso/Warner edition, and comparison with the television broadcast of TCM channel...
Unfortunately Dvdgo is no longer a recommended shop. In Spain, "Movies Distribution" works very well: http://www.moviesdistribucion.com/ (as you can see, the browser supports original title search, which is always very useful).
Indeed, "23 Paces to Baker Street" is sold exclusively in El Corte Ingles, for now. This edition preserves his oar with anamorphic enhancement, but the image quality is mediocre, with an ugly color shifted to yellow.
"The Rains of Ranchipur", however, looks very good.
For the titles announced...
Sorry, still no news about "Violent Saturday".

New releases Impulso/Fox (March, 2010):

"Tender Is The Night" (H. King, 1962)

"The Roots of Heaven" (Impulso/Fox): 2.35:1, anamorphic, good quality transfer.
"Tea and Sympathy" (Impulso/Warner): 2.35:1, not anamorphic, very poor transfer: fuzzy, ugly color...
Generally, the editions of Impulso/ Fox Classics are better than the editions of Impulse / Warner Classics...
Yes, all the titles on your list are issues Impulse / Warner. The quality ranges from acceptable to mediocre. Unfortunately, the masters that they use are all too reminiscent of old VHS tapes.
Especially, "Tea and Sympathy" is a horrible edition, very blurry.
