How should I build this speaker box?

Ok, so I'm making two tower speaker boxes. In each box I plan on putting two tweeters, a 12" subwoofer, and 2 10" woofers. I'm already aware that they may stand 5 feet tall. Does anyone have any input or advice for me? i.e placement of the speakers, certain dimensions, or how they should be...

How about connecting all speaker ports to the mains?

I have a Yamaha RX-V620. I want to hook up two large towers. It does not have a 2-channel option. So, my plan was to combine the left rear to the left main, the right rear to the right main, and divide the center into the to towers as well. So, good idea or not?

How do you bridge two ampplifiers?

Alright, just to clarify what I was meaning... I don't want to bridge to channels into one. What I do want to do is hook up two amplifiers together so that I will, in the end, be able to hook up two more speakers and get more volume. For example, say I plug my laptop into the AUX port to...

How do you bridge two ampplifiers?

I've been looking info up for about 45 minutes but I haven't gotten anywhere. Basically, what I want to do it hook my Yamaha RX-V620 5.1 channel amp up to another 5.1 channel amp (Which I have not purchased yet) to produce a 10.2 system that runs all of the audio in my room. Can anyone help?

What does one look for in an HDTV?

Okay. Well, I will be watching tv series mostly and playing xbox 360. I have Suddenlink Cable. The fursthest I would be sitting away from the tv is about 12 feet. On average, probably 8 feet. It will be mounted five feet off the wall. As for budget, I am willing to pay what I need for a...

What does it mean when it says you can hook a monitor up to your audio receiver?

Thanks guys. I've learned a lot from reading this thread, and my final decision is to split the cable two ways. One way into the Receiver and another way into the tv.... Just to be safe.

    Simple PS3 Home Theater Question

Yeah, I don't see why not. Try hooking the PS3 to the DVD section on the back of the receiver and the tv to the monito section. Hook up the speakers and sub. Plug everything in and power it all up, and everything should work out fine. Pretty simple. You can use both DVD players now.

    Confused about connecting subwoofer

Yep, same problem I had. Basically, in simplest terms, the subwoofer must be powered somehow. The mono RCA cable which I believe is actually a digital coaxial cable, does not power anything. Basically, your system and mine, are designed to deal with powered subwoofers only. That is, a subwoofer...

What does one look for in an HDTV?

I know, this is probably the most basic question ever. But I'm trying to find a good HDTV online, probably eBay, and I'm not sure what to look for. I know not to just go out and buy by the brand. But what do I look for. I mean, I know resolution is a big one, but I don't know what a good...

Is it safe to hook the subwoofer up to a main speaker terminal?

Well, I have too seperate questions relating to the sub and I thought maybe if I used two seperate threads I would get more of a response. My amp's impendance can be set to either 4ohm or 8ohm. It's set to 4 right now, if that makes the issue better. Trust me, lol, this system s only...

What does it mean when it says you can hook a monitor up to your audio receiver?

Yeah you're probably right. I just got them confused. Another question I have, based on the TV output situation... The receiver has a "FM Antenna in" input, but now "FM Antenna Out" Output. So, if I plug the Antenna in, will the cable signal travel to the TV through the s-video cable? Or should...

Will the subwoofer "Suck" the bass out of the main speakers?

Well, as I posted in another thread about whether or not it's safe to plug a sub into the main speaker terminal, I have well... Plugged a non-powered sub into a main speaker terminal because my amp only uses powered subs. I get pretty good bass, and I thought I could, maybe, keep this sub...

Is it safe to hook the subwoofer up to a main speaker terminal?

My amp Yamaha RX-V620 takes a powered sub only, and the sub I got with my Toshiba speaker system is not powered, so I hooked it up to one of the four main speaker terminals. I'm getting more bass, but the sub is also playing a majority of the audio. Is this safe or did I just speed up death of...

What does it mean when it says you can hook a monitor up to your audio receiver?

So, video input through the v-aux gets output through the "monitor out"? So, is it reccomended that I hook the TV to the monitor out or the TV out? Or both?

How do I hook up my subwoofer?

The sub only has the speaker terminals. For now, I did what you suggested and hooked it up to a main. In the mean time, I'll try to find a powered sub. The model number for the Toshiba system is: sd-c67htsu I bought the speakers, as Toshiba recalled all of the receivers that came with...

What does it mean when it says you can hook a monitor up to your audio receiver?

Well, this is what most would probably call a NUBE question. I bought my first amp about 2 weeks ago. A Yamaha RX-V620. I have the speakers and everything set up. Anyways, when I first got it in the mail, I took a quick 1 hour read through the manual. I learned that there is a V-Aux on the...

How do I hook up my subwoofer?

It only has the speaker level inputs/outputs. No other outputs. Do I have to use a powered sub? Or can I somehow convert? Of course, if I can somehow convert the speaker level cables into a single RCA, then that would suggest that 100 Watts of electricity along with the sound signals are...

How do I hook up my subwoofer?

So, I bought a Yamaha RX-V620 5.1 amplifier. I then bought a Toshiba speaker system with 2 mains, a center, two rears, and a subwoofer. I hooked the speakers up, and they sound great. However, I the subwoofer itself has two cables that come out of the back that are supposed to go into the amp. A...
