Are we sure RIOT IN CELL BLOCK 11 isn't with Warner's? Since it was an Allied Artist's title, and Warner's owns a big chunk of that studios output from the 1940s to 70s, would it be under their ownership?
If not, who owns it now?
It's funny that you mention that since the Seattle Cinerama loves the Cinerama logo. I have two shirts with the logo, one from 2004 and one from 2010.
I don't know if they're selling the shirts online, but the website for the Seattle Cinerama is terrific. And for the record, the first movie...
Just to add to the discussion... THE DEVILS played for four weeks at the Cinema Grossmont, east of San Diego. It, and A CLOCKWORK ORANGE, were advertised in the San Diego Union and Tribune as "An X-Rated Film in Color" and not by their titles since... they were rated 'X.'
I have a Sony and had the same problem at the same time (about ten minutes in). I upgraded the firmware and the problem continued.I exchanged the disc and the problem disappeared.
Just out of curiosity, what are the 37 you're missing?
I can't provide them, but it might give the rest of us an interesting "census" of what's out there and not out there.
Um, can we sort a few things out about a quality MOD program will work before we start asking studios for them? I'd love to see Sony do a program (NIGHT OF THE GENERALS! THE HELLSTROM CHRONICLE!), but there's a lot of low effort being put out and it's translating to the discs (MGM). So...
The TCM broadcast is why I mentioned it. Really good movie.
Also...
JOHNNY GUITAR- c'mon Criterion. Whisper the right words in the right ears. Or find some incriminating photos. Or make some incriminating photos. We're way past Queensbury Rules on this one.
THE LAST MOVIE- It's terrible. It's...
55 Days at Peking- Region 1 with all the bells and whistles (I like Nick Ray movies)
Porgy and Bess by Preminger- because his estate is warped and not very nice
Song of the South- some Disney picture. I'm sure it's the first you've heard of it...
Wonderful World of the Brothers Grimm- because...
I'm quite sure the amounts listed are accurate, my point was about "profitability." Studios are the ones reported losses on something like F911 or ROTJ. According to them at various points in time (usually before a lawsuit), despite record breaking box office numbers, they still find themselves...
There are lots of movies that "barely made a profit"- or didn't make a profit at all. Batman 1989. Fahrenheit 911. Return of the Jedi. No, that's not my opinion, that's the word of Warner Brothers, Michael Moore, and Lucasfilm Ltd. Hollywood accounting is a funny thing. And given we're...
