"A Piano For the Fraternity" - The Adventures of Ozzie & Harriet. This long-running series produced several wonderful holiday shows, but this one is now my favorite, just edging out "Busy Christmas." It has joyful Christmas carol singalongs, as well as a poignant portrayal of how, when one...
The color episodes have been interesting - I never guessed the Nelson kitchen countertops would be bright red!
Just watched "Helpful June" which was a fun episode -but I did miss Connie in the office scenes. Still looking forward to my first glimpse of her in color.
Haven't posted here in a very long time, but my Season 13 set arrived today and I find myself holding back from watching more than one episode an evening, to make these last two seasons last longer. As a '70s kid I grew up with The Brady Bunch and that series will always be close to my heart...
I'll buy them to support the continued release of the rest of the seasons, but I'll hold on to my public domain sets as well as I love watching episodes with the original commercials - especially the ones featuring the Nelsons.
I know it's hopelessly naive to expect a large corporation to care more about art than commerce, but I continue to believe that shows that attain the quality level of The Defenders should be made accessible based on nothing other than their status as examples of the medium at its very best. Same...
I don't take Phlllip seriously or even see him as a bully. He's just another guy like Coach who thinks way too much of himself, and revels in getting to play his act to a captive audience of fellow island-dwellers. His tribemates are going along with his buffoonery and laughing at him behind his...
McKayla Maroney. After the team appeared with Shawn Johnson last season I figured one of them would be back, but the smart money would have been on McKayla or Gabby Douglas. But Ali is certainly beautiful and if she can dance like Shawn she'll win it.
Winning cannot be the only measuring stick by which Survivor play is judged. Can you honestly say that Vecepia or Aras or freakin' Fabio are better players than Jonathan Penner or Russell or any number of much smarter players who were eliminated? If the standard is outwit, outplay and outlast...
She does! When she was talking with Shamar it looked like a scene from "The Blind Side." So far Brenda doesn't seem to be giving the producers very much usable footage, which bodes well for her game, as I think she may be the smartest player out there. I'd love to see her win.
Winning and deserving to win are two very different things in 'Survivor.' Russell clearly deserved to win in his first season, He was the most dominant player on the island, and he was personally involved in almost every major move in that game. He was also the first to start looking for (and...
No, but neither did Stockard Channing in 'Grease,' Luke Perry on '90210,' etc. When the rest of the show is firing on all cylinders, those issues are not as noticeable. When there are other problems they become magnified. Given the meteoric rise of the series to iconic status in its first...
Apparently all the Gleeks have left the building. I didn't care much for last week's episode, but the Valentine's Day/ Wedding show was one surprise after another. Not sure I like where they're going with Rachel, but the show was a nice mix of storyline and songs, and it was great to see 'Glee...
Pretty good start to the season, with the Fans making some of the typical rookie mistakes and the Favorites out-thinking themselves as much as anyone else. Since Brenda seems to have avoided an early target on her back, I would not be surprised to see her win it all.
I prefer the earlier episodes myself. I love "The Best Dressed Man," with Tuesday Weld's near orgasmic responses each time Dobie and Milton try to one-up each other with their fashion statements, and William Schallert's hilarious responses to the competition. Thalia was an unrepentant...
That's what is amazing to me. 'GIrls' pulls in 700k-800k, while NCIS delivers 20+ million viewers - yet if you only went by media coverage, you'd think the opposite was true. And I don't watch either show, so I'm not railing at the injustice of it all. I just find it fascinating that a very...
They really stretched the meaning of "favorites" with the group. I love returning players, but this is not a particularly interesting assortment. Brandon? Erik? Philip? These are not the game's top strategists. If casinos took action on Survivor, I'd be betting heavily on the fans this season.
I still like it, and am hoping we'll see Laurel as Black Canary one day (hopefully before season 3). I also find it's a better show when I fast-forward through the island flashbacks.
That's Brooke Bundy - so beautiful. She was also in an episode of "Gidget" where I couldn't take my eyes off her. I'm just about through with the Season 5 set and I've enjoyed it immensely. Yes, there were a few forgettable shows ("The Handyman" comes to mind) and I have never been a fan of...
Some of the town/city scenes were shot in Glendale and Sundale, Occasionally you can pick up a street sign in the episode that will provide an exact location. But I'm not sure about the more rural locations.
I hope so. I was on the Entertainment Weekly site and someone posted what they said was a final 3 for the next season. No idea if it was accurate but either way it's a rotten thing to do.
1. Kurt and Blaine were already drifting apart once Kurt moved to NYC - and then Blaine confessed to a one-night stand with someone he met online.
2. Finn washed out of the army quickly, but didn't tell Rachel for several months. Rachel's been getting closer to a new guy at NYADA.
3. Schuster...
Strategically it wasn't a smart move, but that's easy for me to say from the comfort of my family room couch. I'm sure living with that harpy 24/7 would give me a different perspective.
Right now it all comes down to whether there will be a final two or final three. If it's the latter, Malcolm...
Taking my time with these, because it's the last season with the "real" Stone family intact. Loved the episodes on disc 1 with Brooke Bundy, Cheryl Holdridge and the return of Candy Moore.
No comments yet on what was one of the better episodes of the season ("Swan Song")? Having New Directions out of the Nationals chase already should break up the familiar patterns of previous seasons, and I'm curious where they'll go from here. In New York, Lea Michele's two songs were among the...
