Jeff, reading pages 13-15 of the receiver manual does not show/say that upconverts the componet to HDMI... unless I'm reading it wrong or misunderstanding it.
My family and I just made the move to a 58" plasma and will be getting Blu-Ray here in the next few days. What movie(s) would really show off the difference of the HD system? New or old, it does not matter.
