How much better could "The Stalking Moon" look on BD? I don't know but I bet almost every subscriber

I own the bare bones Warner Bros. dvd. It's excellent. I just wonder what the theatrical release really looked like, when it was originally released. Does it look like what Mulligan really intended? Are the details and colors right? I know you're the experts, so please let me know if this is...

Could a quality transfer be made of "A Man Escaped" and does the New Yorker own film rights?

This weekend I pulled out my New Yorker version of "A Man Escaped" and watched it alongwith the "The One the Got Away." It's really frustrating to watch the former film, that I thoroughly enjoy, only to know that I will be subjected to one of the worst transfers I think I have in my collection...

The Sad, Pathetic Transfer that is ....... Swasbuckler

I wonder what Robert Shaw would say about this pathetic looking thing? Well he's gone. Or for that matter Peter Boyle. He's gone too. Well he still have Bridges, Bujold, Huston, and even James Earl Jones is still alive and kicking. When I saw this in a movie theater when it was first when it...

In 2010 Colossus: Forbin Project will be 40 years old. Universal isn't about time for a special edit

I saw this movie in thew seventies when it originally came out. And yes, it's been hacked to death. It's in real need of a makeover. I wish some of the technical people here at the forum would talk about the aspect ratio that I remember seeing, not in the pan and scan version I own. It's really...

The Hindenburg - What a sad, sad, sad transfer! Any chance for a 35th Anniv. 2010

I've been watching films from my collection that are from the mid 70's up to 79ish. I'm hoping The Hindenburg gets updated next year with special features because God knows it deserves it, or at least Wise deserves it for what he pulled off in the end of the film.

Is Polanski's Tess some where down the road for Criterion?

Since Criterion likes controversial directors', Polanski being one, and coming out with Repulsion, I'm wondering if they'll take a stab at restoring "Tess."

Could a new reissue of The Odessa File be done in aspect ratio of 1.33:1?

I know you guys are more technical savvy then I'll ever be so I threw this question out for the masses. Over at Amazon I saw that The Odessa File will be reissued by A & E Home Viode on 6/30, but with no other information. At IMDb I found the Sony aspect ratio 2.35:1 (pan & scan). Is it possible...

Please members! When will F. Coppola restore " The Grey Fox"?

I wanted to throw this question out to the members, because I know you know more about this subject (reissue The Grey Fox) than I do. I saw this movie in a theater when it was first released, and Richard Farnsworths performance was so subtle and moving, I've never forgotten it. Does anyone...
