Gerard got pretty intense in the finale when questioning Johnson in the interrogation room...I think by season 4 he was beginning to doubt himself about Kimble
I got my set and just finished SAVAGE JUNGLE. About 25 minutes in, the picture started skipping & froze...only episode on any of the sets I have ever had a glitch in. Anybody else run into this? My player is fine. All the other episodes are fine.
I tried watching ESCAPE INTO BLACK a while ago and couldn't make it past the kitchen fire scene. I knew about the corrected discs....maybe they'll release all 4 seasons as a box set one day with the corrections. I just cannot watch these, even at 6 dollars.
Some BIG LOTS stores are selling season 2 vol 1 for 6 bucks! I have avoided buying any of THE FUGITIVE due to the music replacement issue. I caved in and bought the set at BIG LOTS and popped in "Nemesis"...and was nauseated by the replacement score. I know that episode pretty well and the...
Right Harry-I forgot about Barry reading the volume numbers for the VHS releases, although those could be edited as you say. Still. he had the occasional interesting anecdote about some episodes which would make for a nice bonus extra.
I'm surprised they never used Barry Morse's great episode intros on any of the sets. And I am sure there have to be some archival interviews with the cast in existence somewhere.
don't forget there was a vol. 3 LOST IN SPACE CD put out by GNP Crescendo after the box set came out. with lots of great John Williams cues from "My Friend Mr. Nobody"
I just went and tried my copy again. It plays fine...no glitches. You do realize that THE CRASH is on there again as a bonus on the last disc (the unaired version)? I assume you've also tried cleaning the disc with a good disc wipe?
I would rather have heard NO music at the scenes that were changed than Heyes' synths (and I am a synthesist myself). They could've just muted the music tracks at those points. (probably would screw up intros and endings though)
So once again a good reason for me to not buy this set. I haven't bought ANY of them. I have been watching select episodes on Youtube..almost the whole series is on there (with original music) I would rather watch the show with music intact in lo-res on my PC than support Paramount's butchery.
The mystery stock footage of the "explosion" on top of the sea with the white orb visible (mentioned a few posts back) is from the George Pal film ATLANTIS THE LOST CONTINENT. It's the last thing seen as Atlantis sinks beneath the waves...the explosion is the crystal weapon detonating (which is...
SCIENCE FICTION THEATER (1950s) WORLD OF GIANTS (1950s) PROJECT UFO (Jack Webb/NBC) WAY OUT (1960s horror) SPIDER MAN (1970s live action/Nicholas Hammond)
I just wonder why THE FUGITIVE in particular has such an issue with library cues when so many old shows used library stuff. Are you telling me Warners had to go thru every single episode of ADVENTURES OF SUPERMAN, which used all library cues, and figure out who did the cues and who owned the...
Is the scene in THE TRIAL where Vincent scratches Russell Johnson's face intact? It's always been "cut" during broadcasts ( I guess they thought it might give someone ideas)
Disc #16 -- Beauty and the Beast: Bonus Disc Vincent's Quest (Interactive Trivia) Original Love Letters Masques The Beast Within Nor Iron Bars a Cage Song of Orpheus Newly Reconstructed Love Letters Once Upon a Time in the City of New York Terrible Savior Siege No Way Down Masques...
well nowhere in my post did I imply the entire series was released....I said quite a few episodes. The original poster made it sound like he couldn't find ANY.
There's actually lots of the 90s OL available. Have you searched Amazon.com or deepdiscount.com? Have you looked in your local Best Buy or Borders? There's multiple sets out there.
There are many face shots throughout the whole series that are mirror "reversed"...I've seen some of Kirk,McCoy...even Warren Stevens in "By Any Other Name". You'd think in remastering these that they might've taken the opportunity to correct these (simply done with digital).
I recall an episode that traumatized me as a kid...the one where Zorro is fighting the Commandante on the roof and gets unmasked by him ("Don DIEGO!!!") and the guy falls from the roof. (whew)
this might seem like a stupid question but if the tv series is tied up in legal hell why wasn't it a big deal to release the BATMAN movie on DVD...with all of the same elements as the tv series? I realize that Fox's movie & tv divisions were seperate entities but still....
apparently the OL tracked a lot of cues from STONEY BURKE (I cannot recall that series much at all...just vague memories) Frontiere did that show also. Maybe he still has some of those tapes and La La Land will get to them but since the show is sorta obscure by today's standards I doubt it. La...
Someone asked about THE GUESTS over at Filmscore Monthly board and it was mentioned that the "Garden" love theme was a stock cue from STONEY BURKE series and not specifically recorded for OUTER LIMITS.
