    Axiom and heavy metal music?

I picked up an Onkyo TX-R606 receiver for $450 and for the money, it flat out rocks!! 90w x 7 @ .06 THD and 4 HDMI in and 1 out. Setting the speaker levels/distance/eq is a snap with their Audyssey auto calibrating feature. It's damn accurate too. I let it do it's thing and it got all of the...

    DIY with JL 13W7

Well, me and the misses have been talking it over and we have been both looking at the HSU VTF3-MK3 sub and wanted to know how loud does it go? It seems like a great bargain if it indeed meets our needs. It seems to have a rather small footprint for a 12" sub too (turbo not included). I'd like...

That amp does not have a sub sonic filter. I am leaning towards the smaller of the enclosures. I may just go with a 12" version instead of the 15". Space is a bit of a concern. How loud do you think the 15" would be in a sealed enclosure with the 1000w Keiga?

I have not modeled them as of quite yet, but I will be working on that later on today. I have the WinISD beta program. The amp is from Keiga, and it's a line that the now defunct Acoustic Visions used to carry and highly recommended. If this particular amp is not really what it's supposed to be...

How would you compare the Axis to say, a RE Audio MX 15" or Fi Audio Q 15"? I located a plate amp that supplies 1K of power rms into a 4ohm load.

Who on here do you know of that has used the W7 drivers? Can you give me some links to check out? Everything I've been able to find is car audio related....

Has anyone ever used one of these drivers in a HT environment? The specs are very good and they have excellent SQ as well as SPL capability. I am also looking at the Fi, Audiopulse and RE drivers as well. I was thinking of something along the lines of 2-13W7 drivers in a sealed enclosure.....a...

    Subwoofer choices....

On a side note, I used to think the Sunfire True Subwoofer cost a lot @ 1500, but have learned that you get what you pay for in terms of overall quality/performance. I'd never spend more than $1800 for a sub, but I do expect my money to be well spent. The Klipsch Synergy SW-12 sounds pretty good...

    Subwoofer choices....

One thing I do know for a fact is that you most definitely get what you pay for. A $1500 SVS PC Ultra is going to be the last subwoofer you'll ever buy. Same goes for the Axiom EP600v2. You want a subwoofer that digs deep, below the threshold of human hearing. It pressurizes the room to where...

I also use my audio setup for music primarily and it also does fine by me for gaming. :)

    Subwoofer choices....

I will be using it for 70% movies and 30% music. I do like a sub that has good extension and a quick attack, not loose or one note-ish. The MFW-15's were a pick but I have no room to have an enclosure that's big/boxy like they are. That rules out Epik subs too. The EP600v2 and PC Ultra 13 are my...

    Subwoofer choices....

That's what I may wind up doing. I really wish I had room to do either a killer IB setup or the Epik Tower or Conquest. Those look like some serious subwoofers!! I can't even begin to imagine what it would sound/feel like to have a Conquest running full tilt....lol. Kinda makes me feel giddy...

    Subwoofer choices....

That's been the general feeling of the SVS so far. I've not heard one in person yet, nor the 600v2 either. Both seem to be pretty similar in performance but with looks going towards the 600v2.

    Subwoofer choices....

Boy, this is becoming very hard to pick and choose from!! I had no idea that there were so many awesome deals on killer HT subs out there until I came across this forum. I've narrowed it down to either the Axiom EP600v2 or the SVSound PC Ultra 13. If I had the room, the AV123 MFW-15 was also in...

Axiom Audio / HTF Audiobyte Computer Speaker Contest

Here's my lil' old tower.....6 years old as of this past February. Still alive and kicking quite well!! It's the last of the AMD Athlon Barton core cpu's. 3200XP+ with a Gigabyte GA-7N400 Pro2 (rev2.0). It has 1.5GB of DDR333 ram, Aeroflow cpu cooler, ATI 9800 Pro modded to 9800XT, Soundblaster...

    Speaker Placement

What exactly are those? I understand about the single chip making the rainbow effect.....lol. It's just one of those things I guess I'll have to deal with. I got a great deal on the set so I really can't complain that much. I've heard of and listened to Energy speakers before. They are quite...

    Speaker Placement

My room measures 12ft front/back, 10.5ft side/side and 8ft ceiling. I am debating on using the Axiom or SVS sub/sat system. I like the design of the Axiom surrounds. You can place them on the wall directly behind you and still get a good surround effect. But, I don't like the fact that their...

    Speaker Placement

Ok everyone....I've got a dilemma.... My room is shaped as you see in attached jpeg image, typical longer than wide room. But, the entrance is the left corner from where you sit. This in itself is not all that bad. The problem is that there's also a ledge of sorts directly above that door that...

    I got your Precious Moment

Yes, it is all too rare that a woman actually gets into us guy's stuff and actually enjoys it. Most women complain about it....lol. My girl likes to work on my muscle car if you can believe that..... I was out there tweaking the carburetor and getting ready to run some new transmission cooler...

    Subwoofer needs/opinions.......

Well, I understand the Klipsch Synergy's are below the others as far as overall quality/output goes, that's why I was thinking of doing 2 instead of 1. The driver is a Kicker L7 square 15" driver. It's been extensively used in car audio circles for quite some time since they introduced the...

Hello all, I'm the resident noob to the site as of now....lol. I have built several powered HT subs before and am looking to either build or buy a new one. This time, if I do either, it will hopefully be the last....lol. I'm looking into the SVS PC Ultra 13, HSU Research VTF3-HO or a pair of...
