    SVS SB12-Plus finish question

I don't own an SVS sub, yet, but i would definitely go with a veneer finish, especially if your decor is on the nice side. I have seen their subs at a demonstration last year and I can tell you their veneer finish is beautiful. Over the life of the sub, $50 is not much to spend.

Speaker selection for home theater (watch movies) vs. home audio (listening to CDs)

Take a look at Monitor Audio's LCR speakers. This is what I have and listen to music 75% of the time. Very nice with HT as well. I have Nyles in ceiling due to the WAF and am looking for a decent used sub for now. Later I'll invest in a brand new sub. monitoraudio.com

    Right Angled HDMI Adapter

Yes I know but that is the ONLY place in the living I could place it. I installed it as low as I could just above the mantel and so the viewing angle isn't too extreme. Anyway, the HDMI cable is installed and I'm awaiting Monitor Audio RS-LCR speakers this Friday hooked up to a Denon 3808ci...

    Right Angled HDMI Adapter

Thanks for the input Ed. I ended up notching out the sheet rock so that the cable wouldn't kink. It was actually easier than scouting around for the adapter, not to mention picture quality problems, 1.3v compatible, blah, blah, blah. Everyone seems to be out of stock. I'm sure there are many out...

    Right Angled HDMI Adapter

Hoping for some answers. 1) Other than monoprice, where can I buy these online? Monoprice is out of stock. 2) Are they all the same? 1.3v compatible? I've read the swivel kind aren't 1.3v compatible. 3) Is picture quality reduced when using adapters? Plasma is too close to the wall for...

    flat panel/on-wall speakers

I posted a similar question but didn't get any responses (see my thread below before I figure out how to remove it) . So much for the help in here. I have been doing some research and listened to the ERA D4's & D'5 monitor speakers and found them to sound very good for their size, especially...

    Denon AVR-3808CI: An Overview

From what I understand you can turn off the extra two side speakers if running a 5.1. I just purchased this amp and am waiting delivery and will do the same, run a 5.1 setup. I've read that you can run the two speakers into another room which is what I will do. Hope this helps.

    Denon AVR-3808CI: An Overview

Thanks for this info as I was racking my brain over different receivers. I almost bought a 2808 this week for the same price I paid for the 3808 at the website you suggested. If you were out in CA. I'd but you a drink. One quick question for anyone out there, I'm looking into purchasing a 50"...

    5.1 in-wall ceiling speakers

I'm looking for a 5.1 speaker set up & was wondering if anyone has ever used in-wall speakers (Klipsch,Polk Audio, etc) as rear surround "ceiling" speakers as opposed to ceiling speakers. Has anyone used in-wall speakers up in the ceiling for the rear? The ceiling speakers I have researched do...

    Best wireless component set-up

Hello all, I'm relatively new to theater set ups. I'd like to install an LCD screen in my living room BUT place all of the components in the closet of the adjoining room therefore leaving a clean-look in the room. My question is; What is the best wireless product I can use in order to use...

Thanks for the quick response Yee. I'll certainly consider your advice. As for the Bose speakers, I agree as well. The front floor left and right speakers I plan on using are 42"H,16W",8"D with smaller rear speakers.

Hey gang, I found this site today and can't wait to explore everyone's opinions on their theater setup's. I'm just getting started and have decided to place a LCD above the fireplace. I have these front speakers which are similar to what was once called magnaplane, don't know if those types of...
