I'm looking to sell my Sony VPL-HS20 projector and I am a little stumped on what the price should be.
I bought it used and it is currently at about 300 hours on the 3rd replacement bulb, I think. Everything seems to be in working order and it would come with the PJ-Multi connector, power...
Can you upload some pictures? Do I really need to use metal receptacle boxes for this? I was going to make small wooden enclosures just big enough to affix the binding post face-plates. I guess using speaker cabinet terminals(see attachment) isn't really a good idea? I know it's not made for...
I'm toying with the idea of using in-wall speaker connectors without going in the wall. I want to use conduit on the outside wall(to hide wires) and build boxes for the in-wall panels(speaker terminals) ON the actual wall. I figure that this would offer the same advantages of an in-wall...
Thanks for replying. After a more careful inspection, I don't think I really need to clean the actual lenses. The last outside piece of glass/plastic looks as though it needs cleaning though. Also, when the projector is turned on, I can see bits of dust swirling about between the big lens and...
I've read that alcohol and cloth made for lenses is okay to use. I've also read about people using compressed air. I bought the projector used and there is noticeable dust on the lenses(although the image still looks pretty good to my untrained eye)and I'm pretty sure a cleansing is in order...
I did a search but I'm still unsure of the best way to clean my lcd projector lens. I'm seeing a bit of dust on the clear outside cover, the first larger lens, and the smaller lens that's buried inside. Any tips are greatly appreciated. Out of fear of messing something up, I'm not touching it...
If you come over for a movie, I'll gladly put them on the surround speakers instead. Hmm... Then it might really be distracting though... Just joking around, mate. Seriously, it's not distracting at all. It raises a good point though. It probably would be distracting to someone who comes...
I was going through a THX audio and video test on a Disney DVD I have. Well, there is this one test with a circle and two squares around the circle and the left side of the outside square was cut off. This particular movie is in full screen but I messed with different settings on the projector...
Thanks, guys. The hands are just for aesthetic purposes. I want to keep everything simple and non-distracting, yet unique. I've never seen Kentucky Fried Movie. I'll check out that scene though, heh.. Glad you all like it.
Not quite done framing the screen yet but it's coming together. It's definitely starting to get the feel I was going for. Just thought I'd share these pics. Thanks.
So, basically, for a neutral position, the lens needs to be parallel with the top of the screen in the center? Is that you you/they are saying? Since this projector uses digital keystone correction, I guess I will avoid using it as much as possible. Actually, after messing with it more, I...
I'm thinking about getting this mount for my Sony VPL-HS20: Projector-Gear Sony Projector Ceiling Mounts for projectors I need to know if I can get away with using a 3" extension with this mount. This will put the projector about 12" or so above the top of the screen. I've been messing about...
I'm into voodoo, you see. I use the cat's claw for summoning and the evil oval moonstone for casting. The glow is from the souls that I've stolen and kept. A florescent bulb works great! Go figure! Really though, they're just rocks tied to the pull strings of the overhead fixture. The weird...
Here's a shot from the other side showing the "enchanted closet". Pretty creepy, eh? I still got a bit of work to do but it's getting there. Acoustic treatment might be next.. after I frame the screen. Thanks for everyone's help to get me this far.
I went with my plan. Everything is working out great. I just got the HS20 in yesterday and put the first coat of primer on the screen last night just so I could use it. Even with the the screen just primed, it looks really good. Oh, and the screen isn't going anywhere. It has more than enough...
The only problem is that I already got the 1/2" MDF yesterday... After your suggestion about the hardboard, I called HD and they didn't have it in 49"x97" but they did have the 4'x8' sheets. I know it's a small difference but I want to keep my 100" screen after seeing it. I could live with that...
This is a poor example of my idea. The gray dots are the screws. The brown underneath is a board for support. I figure this will take the weight off the mdf and wall. This picture only shows the structural support. I will build a frame around/on this to cover all screws. Is this idiotic...
Actually, Home Depot sells 4'1"x8'1" sheets so it looks like I can get 100" after all. My thinking is that I can always make it smaller if 100" is too large. I'm sure that will be a lot of fun though.:laugh:
