While this may not be a common subject here, it is of course what we see after the closing credits on many of our favorite TV shows, before all the station bumpers.
A few classic closing logos of note:
1. Screen Gems "S from Hell" (1965 to 1974)
Exhibitions: The...
http://www.hometheaterforum.com/t/6989/car-commercials-and-the-songs-that-appear-in-them (the above link inspired me to post this topic) How exactly long ago were there pop songs used in car/truck ads? Did this ever happen in the '70s and '80s? Think about it: Kylie Minogue's (the Australian...
Is anyone interested in getting the 1986-91 ABC series Head of the Class a DVD release? I am one of those people... Anyway, its theme song starts out medieval-sounding (orchestral strings and harpsichord) and then about halfway through switches to electric guitar-and-synth-driven mode. To me...
Does anyone here know about what movies were part of these syndication packages of Columbia Pictures Television (of which the actual underlying division, Columbia/Embassy Television, early in 1988 changed its name to Columbia Pictures Entertainment, Inc. as a result of then-owner Coca-Cola...
Grant, I also need to mention the final classic Scooby-Doo series, The 13 Ghosts of Scooby-Doo (with the legendary horror actor Vincent Price playing narrator and the character of Vincent Van Ghoul), which aired in the 1985-1986 TV season, is now getting a release on DVD. ~Ben
Guys, WB is releasing the original 1973 Super Friends series. Volume 1 (episodes 1-8) have already been released and the second and final volume is due out shortly thereafter containing episodes 9-16. Also, the next eight Laff-a-Lympics shows making four half-hours total on volume 2 is...
In regards to SD/DH, I think WHV should've delayed its final release by six months or so to give more time for searching for the original credits. ~Ben
Some shows by H-B (and Ruby-Spears) haven't been released as of yet, as my theory goes, is due to the fact that some of the original prints (as they were seen prior to syndication) were never found (or are in poor condition; if you look at such shows as The Quick Draw McGraw Show and The Banana...
How about a re-release of The Scooby-Doo/Dynomutt Hour (Show) with the original opening and closing titles, and a re-release of The Richie Rich/Scooby-Doo Show with the original single-sequence closing credits? BTW, didn't the original closing titles to SD/DH look similar to that of...
The Richie Rich/Scooby-Doo Show volumes 2 and 3 (have volume 1) The All-New Super Friends Hour volume 2 (have volume 1) The Smurfs season 1 volume 2 (have volume 1) Mission: Impossible (1966) seasons 5-7 Mission: Impossible (1988) The Plastic Man Comedy/Adventure Show (as a complete series...
Hi, I am right now watching the first disc of the Richie Rich/Scooby-Doo Show DVD and here are how the closing credit sequences are: Richie Rich ending credits play first; the 1979 H-B Swirling Star logo appears (bylineless) with the show's music finishing out over it (it still doesn't...
Hi, Since it is now less than 24 hours before the release of the DVD of The Richie Rich/Scooby-Doo Show: The Complete Series, Vol. 1, I'd like to find out from all of you here over whether or not the seven shows contained here are from their original ABC broadcasts, or, if they were pieced...
AFAIK, only "It's Punky Brewster", "Rambo" and "Skysurfer Strike Force." Again, that is the whole point of why I started this thread in the first place. When WBE decides to issue more H-B and R-S related DVDs, I think they ought to resurrect the front cover art used on the mid 1980s...
They also need to release all the Flintstones primetime specials, including: *A Flintstone Christmas (1977) *Little Big League (1978) *The Flintstones' New Neighbors (1980) *The Flintstones Meet Rockula and Frankenstone (1980) *Fred's Final Fling (1980) *Wind-Up Wilma (1981) *Jogging...
With the May 20 release of The Richie Rich/Scooby-Doo Show now less than a month away, now I would like to what future Hanna-Barbera (and some Ruby-Spears) DVDs are on the horizon for Warner Bros. Entertainment. Here's my outlook on WBE's Hanna-Barbera/Ruby-Spears DVD horizon: *The All-New...
Consider the show's format had originally ran 1 hour (though for the 1981-82 season it unofficially ran for 90 minutes with the addition of Ruby-Spears' Goldie Gold & Action Jack) and it consisted of: *Richie Rich - Treasure Chest (3 min) *Scooby & Scrappy-Doo (7 min) *Richie Rich - Gems (3...
My top 20 (10 x 2): 1. The Plastic Man Comedy/Adventure Show (the original 2-hr format; also including Fangface & Fangpuss, Mighty Man & Yukk! and Rickety Rocket) (1979-1980) 2. The Plastic Man/Baby Plas Super Comedy Show (1980-1981) 3. Heathcliff & Dingbat (1980-1981) 4. Heathcliff &...
Not to mention that Goldie Gold was conceived as the feminine equivalent of Richie Rich (Richie generally appealed to the male audience, so when Taft bought RS, they came up with Goldie for the feminine audience) at the time. But, technically, Richie Rich was still with Scooby and Scrappy-Doo...
While we have hopes that WB Entertainment will get its Classic Collection division act together and release certain Ruby-Spears programs (the bulk of which is under technical ownership of Turner Entertainment since 1990) produced from 1978-91, there are several R-S programs that will probably...
As for Warner Bros. Entertainment, they need to start prepping up for: *The Plastic Man Comedy/Adventure Show (as the complete 2-hr series with Plastic Man, Fangface & Fangpuss, Mighty Man & Yukk! and Rickety Rocket) *Scooby's All-Star Laff-A-Lympics (as the complete 2-hr series with Captain...
Hi, One SatAM cartoon I would like to see get prepped for DVD by Warner Bros. Entertainment is Ruby-Spears' The Plastic Man Comedy/Adventure Show. Sure enough, Plas is a DC Comics property, and because WB had been doing so well with the Super Friends franchise, Plas would surely not be far...
That's good to hear, because a lot of the other H-B classic DVDs released as of late (aside from the DC Comics-owned Super Friends titles) have had their original closing logos (such as the 1968 H-B "Box") replaced by the 1994 H-B "All-Stars Comedy" logo.
Has anyone bought the animated cartoon The Smurfs: Season 1, Volume 1 on DVD yet? If so, has anyone checked the end credits for the 1979 Hanna-Barbera "Swirling Star" logo with the byline ("A DIVISION OF THE TAFT ENTERTAINMENT COMPANY" on a single white line)? There are 19 segments in this...
So it's just the 30-second bridging segment for "Dynomutt" (which features scenes of episodes with Scooby in them) and the original SD/D closing title. The 30-second bridging segment for Dynomutt probably has the same theme music that would be used for the 1978 opening/closing titles for...
Q1: Where is Mr. Kress now??? Q2: They did use the original 1976 opening and closing titles. But not all of the Dynomutt episodes had them (some had the extant '78 opening and closing titles)
