THE BOWERY BOYS on DVD: continuing discussion of Warner's eventual release plans (NEW UPDATE 10/2 Po

I have a theory as to why Homer vanished; in the second film David Gorcey came in as Chuck, so William Frambes probably got the boot. The producers still had Gabe, Bobby and Billy and with David now a member, they probably didn't feel the need to keep on Frambes. Like Homer but, what are you...

THE BOWERY BOYS on DVD: continuing discussion of Warner's eventual release plans (NEW UPDATE 10/2 Po

Currently there is a Dead End Kids/Bowery Boys documentary in the works. I really don't think I'm at liberty to discuss it in detail, but it is being done by people who truely love the boys and also have the fans interest at heart. If what I have heard is true, it's going to be awesome. From...

THE BOWERY BOYS on DVD: continuing discussion of Warner's eventual release plans (NEW UPDATE 10/2 Po

I agree. This is getting ridiculous. They can release the "Mexican Spitfire" series, but not the Bowery Boys?? Does anybody realy believe that Leon Errol is actually more popular to today's audiences than Leo Gorcey or Huntz Hall? No disrespect to the series or Mr. Errol, of course. I do think...

Maybe Warners should start a new poll...do you wish to continue waiting for the films to be released in the regular dvd format, or would you be willing to purchase them much sooner on Warner Archives?"

Agreed. I haven't watched them because I don't have cable. But if they released them I'd buy them all in a heartbeat.

Blonde Dynamite is another that has been in bad shape and is missing some footage in the middle due to a break in all the TV copies. I hope this one can be found as well. That's interesting because, to be honest, I have a copy of it (bought from an on-line dvd dealer) and I believe it's...

10 Blondie (Singleton) movies now on DVD

Thanks to everyone for their help. One final question (I promise!)...if King Features owns the rights, that means a dvd distributor would have to request and pay a fee to release the films? King Features aren't dvd distributors, correct?

Also as someone else pointed out I think a bigger problem with mixed sets would be seeing a young slip and sach playing a ganster film, then seeing a much older slip and sach acting goofy and like little kids and then seeing a film and Slip is suddenly gone and replaced by Stanley Clemens and...
