It is for this reason I actually prefer to watch the Star Wars Prequels in Black and White.... Also makes them feel "older" than the original trilogy. To take this a step further, I've enjoyed watching them as silent films and just listening to John Williams in the background, but that is...
Any news on this? I'm itching to watch this, but I refuse to watch the DVD. I always get the urge to watch this after watching McClintock!...maybe I should just quit watching that one, problem solved. Speaking of which, any Maureen O'Hara on blu would make me a happy man. Rio Grande is nice...
Maybe I'm just stuck in the past. I love the history behind the old films from historians and film professors. Feels like I'm in a class learning about classic hollywood. I especially enjoy those commentaries by:
Eddie Mueller
Alain Silver
James Ursini
Glenn Erikson
Drew Casper
Richard...
Lately I have enjoyed listening to the commentary tracks in my DVD collection more so than actually watching the movies, especially my film noir and classic film collection. I'm sure this is just a phase. But as I browse my collection, there are some films that I truly wish had a commentary...

Any word on special features yet? Hoping all the films have commentary tracks this time around. That is one thing I wish the Masterpiece Collection had. I am pretty content with that collection, while I may upgrade a few of my favorite titles to Blu. I don't think I need them all on Blu, but...
Commentary track available! For those of you who love this movie, and wish it had a commentary track...your wish has come true. Just discovered that Rod Daniel recorded his own track for this and released it online. Brilliant! Hopefully more filmmakers do this, even if the studios won't pay them...
Just picked up Marlene (Kino) and You Must Remember This: The Warner Bros. Story Any other new documentaries out there? Maybe exclusive on Blu-ray releases? Also noticed in the list, the Jack Lemmon: Man Behind the Magic doc is actually a seperate disc in the Jack Lemmon Film Collection...
Is it just a coincidence that my forbidden planet froze at the exact same point just after the swim? Just started checking my discs. 'Forbidden Planet' failed, 'The Cowboys' played through fine. If this continues, WB is going to have to do something about it. Just hoping discs from other studios...
