Will HD-DVD or Blu-Ray be the final word??

I think it also depends on the movie. Having watched many movies on my HD cables channels, i've seen quite a few that honestly looked terrible! Even in HD. Donnie Darko is one that comes to mind. My standard DVD looked much better than when I saw it on TMC-HD. I don't get that

Will HD-DVD or Blu-Ray be the final word??

I haven't jumped into the HD war yet and i'm wondering if I ever will. Although, pricing is an issue at the moment which will certainly change in the future, what has me thinking is how many times i've replaced my titles. Those of us who started with laserdisc saw the widescreen version, the...

    MASH-Martinis & Medicine Box

Has anybody else noticed that these seem to have made a comeback? They were made out of print at the begininnig of the year and were going for big bucks on Ebay. Now the price has dropped quite a bit on Ebay and I was at my local Costco today and not only did they have 20 copies! in stock but...

Enough already Fox. Are we EVER going to see WKRP released?

After all this hubub, what are the chances we would even see seasons 2-4 in any form? and think of how long it would take? We're just now seeing seasons 2 of Happy Days, Laverne & Shriley and Mork & Mindy. Another reason to seek out "alternative" WKRP sets.

Cheech & Chong's Nice Dreams DVD question

I have the original DVD release of this from 2001 and today browsing at Best Buy, I noticed a version that came out in 2006 with different artwork. Normally, I would assume that's the only difference but they had both versions in the store and the 2001 DVD shows a running time of 87 minutes and...

    Cheesy 80's movies on DVD

You're right. I think it was 79/80 and no it's not in the same "sex crazed" category as the others. It's just one particular title i would love to have on DVD. Here's another one for the cheesy pile: GORP Totally bizaare sex comedy with very young Dennis Quaid, Rosanna Arquette and Fran...

    Cheesy 80's movies on DVD

The only 80s movies that I think are cheesy are the ones that, to my eyes, have no redeeming value at all whatsoever. For me, cheesy has always signified bad, and I would never call a movie I enjoyed bad. No matter how horrible others may think a movie is, if I can find something of redemption...

    Little Rascals on DVD

I know Cabin Fever had the rights to them in the 90's but you can't find those anymore and all i see now is one bootleg after another or $1.99 collections with 4 episodes. Anyone know who officially owns the rights to the little rascals and if they will ever be released properly? Did I see a new...

    Cheesy 80's movies on DVD

Anyone else out there who loved some of the glorious cheese that came out of the 80's? I'm talking classics like Spring Break, Stewardess School, Hot Stuff...where are they?? Is it a coincidence they were all released by Columbia? It's a miracle that Private Resort came out. Anyone else missing...
