if you have carpet, a real neat way to hide the cables is take the wire and push it underneath the baseboard. You can do this with your hands or a screwdriver by pushing the wire under with the screwdriver. There is no harm to the cable and its basically like you have the cable in the wall!

these are ok, although imo the wires are a little thin. try to stick with BJC and monoprice and you get much nicer ones for around the same price.

hey guys, just wondering my dvd player outputs with a digtal coaxial cable to my receiver. Should my reciever be able to decode the output for dts es and others or is that only possible through toslink and hdmi? thanks

whats so special about this projector? you can go to sony and get their 1080p sxrd for 5000. it has a better contrast ratio, as well as almost every other spec. so why is this good again?

yeh you can use three composite connections for sure. Its a much cheaper route because most composite cables are very bad quality. Lets say you have some nicer ones like 3 digital coax cables you could use those too. neways the point is yes you can use three composite cables as long as they line...

i would go with monoprice, the cables look better, amazing quality and sweet price. i have got hdmi and dvi cables from them you cant imagine how thick the cable is. really high end stuff. and also for any rca type cable they have better connectors than BJC.

i agree those suggested specs of viewing distances just arent right. i have a 60 inch sxrd and i have around 14 feet from it. i love the distance and going too close just strains the eyes. i dont see how people can sit soo close, there ruining their eyes IMO.

well i guess ill just buy speakers for the 7.1 part. that stinks, i was looking forward to having the presence speakers, but i would rather use the amps for the surround speakers, prob will have a greater impact. thanks for the help

So do you have the 659? It seems that only some yamaha models can do 7.1 + presence at the same time while others can only do one of them at a time. im just trying to confirm this with the 659 so i can go ahead and get speakers. thanks

my mistake it did not say that in the manual, although it gives a slight impression. i read in a quick review that it cant run both the presence and sourround back at the same time. however, i havent got the speakers yet and i dont want to buy more than i need. hmmm is that for most receivers? i just checked the 659's manual , it says it takes the power from the back speakers. is there a way to make it not do this?
