do you know if the sony bdp 550 is capable of doing PLIIx? also i would really like to have all 7 speakers being used otherwise its a waste so do you think if i use an optical cable instead of multichannel outputs that it will sound the same? i need your opioion. can you notice the...
thanks but im wondering now... currently with my dvd player i use an opitcal cable and my receiver has the option of PLIIx which takes the 5.1 sound and makes it 7.1 by taking the surround speakers signal and feeding it to the surround back speakers as well. However, for blu ray if i use...

Hi everyone!, I am in the process of deciding a blu ray player and I am set on getting the sony BDP S550. I really need help on what type of audio i should do. My receiver is a yamaha rx-v659 and it does not have hdmi. When i hook up the blueray player i will use hdmi only for video as it...
thank you, you are right. but i have an honest question and in no way im i trying to be rude. if these speakers are said to be cheap in quality how can they afford a 5 year warrenty? thanks
thanks for the input. im really disappointed in some of the other people who have posted in this forum. im sure they have never even seen or heard fluance speakers yet they feel they should bash them. i mean they are sold at many sites, including amazon and many other online stores. cnet reviews...
thanks but you are wrong about the company. i have a good friend who has beem a distributer for fluance for years, thats where im getting them from. as for reviews maybe you should check cnet before talking out of nowhere about the reviews. they have had reviews done.
hey guys, sorry i keep posting new topics for which speakers i should get. i finally think i have settled on which ones i want. Have you guys heard of Fluance? are they any good. i will list the speakers i like and please let me know what you think. this is a 7.1 setup. front mains...
hey everyone, i was looking at speakers and have narrowed it down to three. i would really like some help on what you guys think is best. heres what i came up with: Athena Floor Speakers (AS-F2.2) Precision Acoustics 3-Way Floor Speakers (6XT3) Sony SSM-F650H 3-Way Floor Standing...
u guys should check out the size of some of the speakers sold by this site. http://www.vonschweikert.com/ wow the $150000 are huge. i wonder how good they sound? any ideas?
well i plan on using a cable Amplifier to boost my signal since i have many splitters. the Amplifier needs a dc power source. so does that mean when i connect the Amplifier's output to the splitters input than the Amplifier's dc power can travel through the power pass and give a boost to...
hey guys, i was about to buy a catv splitter for some tvs and was wondering. the one i was looking at says that one of its outputs power pass. whats does this exactly mean and is this what i need? thanks
thanks for all the advice. i bought one 25 foot subwoofer cable and i plan to use it for spot #2. its gonna be a while until i buy the sub but i plan on installing the cable soon. thanks again
thanks but i think thats out of my price range. one more thing however. if i choose the near field placement will the couches i have there kinda block the subs sound. the sub may not get a big enough opening and the sides of the couches may cover the sub up a bit. should it still be fine?
arthur thanks for all the info. my worry is if i try the nearfield placement wont the bass be to close and actually get annoying. i mean when it is almost beside you wont it mask alot of the sound from the rest of the speakers? also Subwoofer Interconnects are not that cheap especially for a...
