That looks like it will work great. Thanks for the tip. Do you know if there's anything similiar that I could just plug the wires into and not have to put together ? Or a case for the thing YOU posted ?
Then what would you suggest ? I'm looking to mod an Arcade 1up arcade machine. But I need some way of altering the volume of one of the speakers so that I can balance the sound for my messed up hearing. On my computer headphones, I have the left channel at, say, 100 and the right channel at...
I'm setting up a raspberry pi system soon...I hope. I have a question. I would be getting an amp to run the speakers. The amp I'm looking at has a 3.5m input plug. Which I would use to run a wire from the LCD controller board on the arcade 1up I'd be using. The amp uses bare speaker wire...
I'm wanting to get the UK version of the Superman Anthology set to replace my old, non working dvd set. I know that the movies will play just ine, the set being region free, but I'm worried about the bonus features. Someone told me that HD movies will work just fine, but that if the bonus...
I just noticed something last night. I was attempting to watch Terminator 2, which has DTS sound. Fine. I like it. But I noticed that my receiver was showing Dolby Digital on the display. I checked another movie, Gremlins 2, and this time, the receiver showed DTS. I checked ANOTHER movie...
I'm trying to make a video widescreen, but I have no idea what to do. I have tried changing it in VLC and then saving a new version of the movie, but the resulting video is still squished. I've tried online services, but they don't work, either.
The video is widescreen, squished into 4:3...I'm...
I'd like to know where I'm supposed to get that much money. Not having a paying job makes that kind of hard. If you can add as many titles as you want on the pc version, I don't see how you can't do that on the ipad version.
I just use the unregistered version of the PC version of Profiler. Unregistered, you can add as many titles as you want, but after 50 titles, you can't download the HQ covers....but you can still put them in yourself. The ipad version, unless I'm incorrect, only lets you put in 50 titles until...
I was just wondering if anyone knew why the ipad version of DVD Profiler was limited to 50 titles. I know the pc version, which I use, is limited to HQ scans for 50 titles, but you're still able to ad as many titles as you want....which I do. Why isn't the ipad version the same way ?
Yeah, I know what you mean. I found one that's 89 dollars, but you can get a good stereo vcr for like 30 dollars on ebay. That's probably what I'll do instead. Going through all this mess isn't worth the trouble.
I can't do it ? I was wanting to take the coax output from the vcr and have a splitter send one cable to the tv for the video and one cable to the receiver for the audio, using a coax to rca output adapter to get sound.
That's not possible ? What sort of signal does the coax cable carry ? Mono...
I DID change out the left and right channels. The sound came from the center and left, instead of center and right. I guess my vcr just has a bad left channel. Not too upsetting. I suppose I can just fine another vcr on ebay or something.
I had an idea of how to get stereo out the machine...
you mean to change the wires on the vcr it's self or the ends that go into the receiver ? Because as I've said, both wires are plugged into both outputs on the vcr and the inputs of the receiver. Sound only comes out of the center and right front speakers. If I take out the left channel wire...
I don't know what would happen, but I'll try later on. What do YOU think would happen ? It's been years, I think, since I've used a vcr, and never with a surround receiver as far as I can remember, but I don't remember this ever happening.
It happens in all modes. In some modes, the sound is softer than others. But in every mode, the sound is coming from only the center speaker and right front speaker. I don't know WHAT'S going on. Like I said, I can get stereo...or at least sound balanced to left and right, but the left channel...
A bit of a weird issue I discovered last night. I was hooking my vcr back up to test out some tapes, and came across something weird. At first, I thought there wasn't any sound, but it was just that I had to turn up the volume...a lot. This is where the issue came in. The sound seemed to be...
what about the surr. parameter settings ? there is something called low frequency. it's baseline is 0 db and can be lowered to -1db, -2db, etc. what does this do ?
that's not how it works. i set the sub to no. but that doesn't mean there's no crossover to set. you need to set the front, center, and surround crossovers....since there isn't a sub. there is also lpf for life which is currently set to 120hz.
is there anyone here that can help ?
the r391 DID come with speakers. It was the receiver, subwoofer, and speakers.
I can't let the sub do it!s job because as i said, i don't have one. too low a frequency confuses me. what do i set the crossovers at, since i don't have a subwoofer ? the lower the number, the more low frequency...
I have a denon avr-s530bt. The speaker are small bookshelf type speakers that came with my last receiver, an Onkyo R391.
I don't have Audyssey, though it does have an automatic room EQ thing. But because of my off balance hearing, those kind of things don't really work for me.
I have yet to get a subwoofer for my receiver and have a question. How do I set the crossovers ? There's an lpf for lfe that is set to 120hz...but what do I set the speakers to ? What do I set the speaker crossovers to get the most bass/low frequency out of them ?
I suppose I could do that....but it's a lot of trouble. It always takes me forever to set up things how I want them. It's weird that there isn't any remove function. On the other receiver I had, an ONKYO, and on all the stereos I've had, you could do something like hit memory and the preset...
No. There's no REMOVE button. I ran the automatic channel preset thing, and it did that, but there are a ton of channels that don't exist but are on the list. As well as some channels that are dupilcated. I want to remove the empty channels and the duplicate channels, but don't see any way off...
Another question with my Denon receiver. I can put channels into the FM preset memory. But how in the world do you REMOVE channels from memory ? I looked in the manual, but it doesn't say anything about it.
I don't have a mode movie button. There is a button that will cycle through things like direct, stereo, Pro Logic....but that doesn't do anything to compress the sound. it just changes which speakers the sound goes through.
