Gary,
Halls of Ivy was originally a radio comedy that moved to Television for the 1954-55 season (CBS). It starred Ronald Coleman and his wife Benita Hume. Coleman played the president of Ivy College. What's interesting about Life With Father is that it has a very young Marion Ross (Happy Days)...
Gary,
Love that you listed the Aldrich Family. Would also love to see other 50's shows like Life With Father (Leon Ames), Halls of Ivy (Ronald Coleman) and Meet Mr McNulty aka. The Ray Milland Show.
Has anyone ever seen the television version of Life With Father starring Leon Ames? It was on CBS for two seasons. It is supposedly the first TV show to be filmed in color, this might give it a chance at a DVD release.
How can a show that was on for four seasons have only one episode surviving? The fact that one is out there isn't it likely that at least some others could still exist?
This is a sitcom from I believe the early fifties. I have seen one episode involving a costume party, does anyone know if any other episodes still exist?
To me the worst example was The Addams Family. Why was it necessary to split a 2 season half hour show into 3 sets? Then they come out with a full set. It wasn't done to a similar show like the Munsters. To me this shows the pure greed of MGM.
Hank, I was referring to the William Bendix shows. I thought all shows from the 50's were done on kinescope. I remember seeing some episodes of The Goldbergs many years ago on PBS.
What are the chances of any of the following 50's comedies see at least a best of dvd release (not just one or two episodes)? The Life of Riley The Aldrich Family The Goldbergs Mama
Does anyone think we will ever see Dennis the Menace released? I always liked it better than Leave It To Beaver, and that show has 2 seasons released already.
