    1080p Front Projectors

Hi Parker, Thanks for the input. The reason we decided to wait on the sub is because the 7002 front towers have subs built in. When we were in the Magnolia demo room, we went back & forth w/ & w/out the stand alone sub. And honestly, the difference was minimal. And that was w/ the 7002s built...

    1080p Front Projectors

Oops! Scratch that Procenter 1000....that was the sub we returned. The center is the c/l/r 2300. We went so many rounds w/ the configuration that I got the models mixed up. Was wondering if anyone is in the Denver area and might know an installer they could recommend? Thanks, Nikki

    1080p Front Projectors

We got the 7002 towers, the Procenter 1000 & the 2x bipolar rears. We started out w/ a sub too, but after spending time w/ the salesman (who was very knowledable about Def Tech) decided to forgo the sub for now. We can add one later if we feel we will need it. I really liked the detail you could...

    1080p Front Projectors

Hi guys, Hopefully I won't want to give up my Sony, Tim! But we are a long way from actually getting up & running... Screen selection is the next hurdle. The guy I'm buying the Sony from says that I should ABSOLUTELY buy the Firehawk SST since it was developed for the Pearl. Others on...

    1080p Front Projectors

Thanks for the validation RAF! Ordered the Pearl today, but it will be awhile before we actually have it installed & running. (since we have NO other components yet) The feedback here has been invaluable. I've been on the internet for a long time now, and it never ceases to amaze me what...

    1080p Front Projectors

We've decided to go w/ the Sony Pearl. After discussions here & on other forums, it just seemed silly not to go for the newer technology. Now the next decision will be amp & speakers...

    1080p Front Projectors

Here's an update. We got to view the Sharp 12000 Mark II and the Sony Ruby set up in the same room, going back & forth. We saw a HD DirecTV feed, DVD (SD) & HBO HD. The overall image quality of both was great, we couldn't tell a difference as far as the 1080p/720 (Sony/Sharp). Perhaps that...

    1080p Front Projectors

Have to admit that I came to the same conclusion about the plasmas. My husband wanted to do a projector all along, and I wanted to just buy a REALLY big tv. But after looking at both options, it seems to make more sense to me to go the route of the projector, too. The only problem is that we...

    1080p Front Projectors

Thanks Tim for the info. I'll read the article & hopefully understand it...at least the parts that might pertain to us! I am anxious to see the Ruby and I hope that the salesman can talk to me about what the differences w/ the Pearl will be.

    1080p Front Projectors

Thanks for the input. I guess the best way to go is to at least look at the Ruby, then go look at the Sharp. Luckily the 2 stores are within a few miles of each other. As for the price on the Firehawk SST, I haven't been able to find one. For some reason, I have seen very few...

    1080p Front Projectors

We don't have anything yet, just a big finished basement. The only advice I have gotten so far is to buy a Stewart screen, that they are the best. We are going 100". And the basement does have easily accessible crawl space, so running cables won't be too horrible.

    1080p Front Projectors

Thanks for the reply...but what I'm really trying to figure out is if it's worth waiting for. There's a local company that has the Sony Ruby on display...anyone know if the Pearl will be comparable to the Ruby visually? (and I realize that much of it is subjective) I've read that the...

OK-I'm new to the forum & home theater, and may be posting in the wrong area, so please point me in the right direction! First, thanks to all of you for your knowledge and willingness to share info. And thanks in advance for any advice. My husband & I are looking to create our 1st home...
