Oh, man, I saw these several times as a kid in the 1970-1980s - first in our local library, which every once in a while showed 16mm films for kids, and later on Danish TV. I have been wanting own these myself for a long, long time.

The only thing that would get me to upgrade is if part 3 is in real 3D instead of anaglyphic. But I fully expect Warner to re-use the old discs. Would love to be surprised, though.

Criterion have announced their upcoming release as 1.75:1 which is the same AR as the old laserdisc. The DVD was 1.85:1 (some sources say 1.78:1).
