I had virtually the same reaction as Doug. I said or thought most of those things before I got back to the car. With one exception--I wanted to be 10 again, not 12. :)
I'll rent the Donner Cut (assuming B'buster stocks it) and wait for Christmas to unwrap the massive box set. I've heard several people say now that it's a significantly different film, so I'll take the advice of TheBat's post and watch the theatrical version first. Can't wait to experience it!
Glad to see everyone loved this one. But as a hardcore Bond fan who has seen each film 3+ times, I am going to have to wait until I can pronounce CR one of the best ever. Will I enjoy it this much (or more?) 5 years from now? That's how you measure greatness in my book.
Until now I didn't know anyone that had seen the Peart discs. Mike Portnoy's Liquid Drum pretty much lives in my DVD player. I'll check them out. And speaking of Drum DVDs, the Steve Smith History of Drums is worth checking out for the few minutes he lets loose on nothing more than his hi-hats...
Second half didn't do enough for me to make up for the first. I can't go higher than 5/10. To me, it's very average. Has potential for excellence, but doesn't get there. V's just out for vengeance. Nothing more. He has a monologue about freedom for all people, but he's ultimately out to satisfy...
I've been curious about the Journey releases - thanks Silverman, I'll check that one out. Kevin G, I don't have DTS... will I still enjoy VH's Live Without a Net? I've heard mixed reactions to that release. The 10 second clip I saw wasn't impressive video quality. *********** Dream...
I'm not so sure the girl actually died. But, this movie was sloppy enough that maybe she did die. There was absolutely no sign that those cataclysmic events Finch described actually took place. The massive armed border around Parliament was in anticipation of V's terrorist attack, not part of...
I'm not about to scroll through the other pages, but I was terribly bored by this movie. The original teaser was entertaining, but not enough to get me to a theater. Just finished the DVD minutes ago. I didn't enjoy the story because even if I agreed that anarchy was the key to happiness...
I have to be somewhat selective in this title, because I don't want someone coming to me with a Jewel or Tori Amos recommendation. I've got an online rental account, so I'm checking out concert DVDs like never before. What have you seen that was released recently that's worth the 90 minutes...
Since these would be thrown in my desert island napsack, the order doesn't matter. And I won't cheat and use double albums! Guns 'N Roses... Appetite for Destruction Dream Theater... Awake Led Zeppelin... I The Who... Who's Next Metallica... And Justice For All Dream Theater... Train of...
