I am eagerly waiting an announcement. I asked Gord about this a while back, and he said he didn't hear anything about it. Since Warner is in charge of the BBC DVD's maybe we can ask them in the chat (if that's how it works).
I think that if Warner wants to allow only one question about Everwood (which is fine considering what happened), it may be a good sign. Also the question must be well worded. It cant be just are you going to release more Everwood. It has to show that there are fans out there who want it and...
These edits are a lot worse than I think anyone expected. There should be no reason to include syndicated cuts. It makes me EXTREMELY nervous about any set of The Wonder Years coming out, a set I would easily pay upwards of 100 dollars a season if the music was intact. It makes me wonder how bad...
Here's the press release from tvshowsondvd.com http://www.tvshowsondvd.com/newsitem.cfm?NewsID=6981 I really hope FOX isn't releasing this in full screen. This would be two shows recently (that I can think of) that FOX messed up the other being How I Met Your Mother, which i still haven't...
Have you checked your thread recently? Someone from Shout Factory replied. I owuld love to have this series on DVD as I missed much of the last season. While not the best show, it was just cute and fun to watch.
When I read the news, I thought the exact same thing. I want the rest of Everwood so badly. Does anyone remember if WAT was brought up in the recent chat with Warner?
I'm starting this thread in response to my recent purchase of Weeds Season 1. I knew it was in fullscreen when I bought it I just thought I could deal with it, but after only 5 minutes into the first episode, I had to turn it off after half of someones head was cut off. I know the debate over...
The Lost season sets are probably the best TV sets on the market today. In fact Buena Vista IMO seems to do a great job with their sets on the newer shows like Grey's Anatomy, Desperate Housewives and more or less Scrubs (the improper episode order on the third season set bothered me).
For me the most surprising DVD release was Ned And Stacey. It just really bugs me that they didnt release this as a complete series set with 6 discs as opposed to just the first season. I have a feeling Sony will never release the second and final season of the show.
I actually think this is a really good idea. I mean you're right look at all the failed Sony sets, including my favorite Just Shoot Me!, and people will see these and be like "Wow I havent seen this show in a while." They may be all excited to watch it again and not realize how much they missed...
The DVD for Boston Legal was put out by FOX, the show just airs on ABC. The studio that produces a show is responsible for the DVD set not the network that airs it. For instance My Name is Earl, airs on NBC, put on DVD by FOX. House, airs on FOX put out on DVD by Universal (NBC). When you watch...
Action The Complete Series Animaniacs Volume 1 Arrested Development Season 1 Season 2 Season 3 Closer, The The Complete 1st Season Comeback, The The Complete Series Critic, The The Entire Series Curb Your Enthusiasm The Complete 1st Season Desperate Housewives The Complete 1st...
Thanks a lot Gord. My DVD player is set up on 4X3 Widescreen so I would assume that I can't see menus that way. The TV I'm planning on buying has a Widescreen mode where it will squeeze the picture, like yours, so I'll definitely make use of that function.
I wasn't sure where to post this so I thought I'd start here. Is there any way for the menus on a DVD to be shown in widescreen on a 4x3 TV? Does it depend on the DVD player, or the way the DVD is encoded?
I thought it would be fun to have a discussion on what type of cases you like for your TV-DVD sets, slim-cases, digipacks, or maybe another one? Why? I know I prefer digipacks cause I think they are not as cheap looking as slim cases are and I think they are sturdier. I also enjoy unfolding...
I know what you mean about the subtitles, but if you have a newer TV, the set is closed captioned. It takes a little more effort, but you can still check the dialogue that way. Most sets that do not have English subtitles are in fact closed captioned.
The only TV-DVD set I've ever bought blindly is Invasion. I am evertually going to buy Battlestar Gallactica and Alias. Im thinking about getting the complete series set they are releasing in November. BTW I love Invasion and now I'm really upset it was cancelled.
I've never seen an episode of Invasion ans this was my first ever blind buy for a TV-DVD set. I just finished the pilot and I'm hooked. The show has such an eerie vibe and is genuinely creepy. While I don't think it was as good as the pilot for Threshold, I think the season has the potential to...
This is just a fun topic. How does everyone watch their TV-DVD sets? I watch all the episodes first, then watch special features, then listen to the episodes with commentaries. I was curious because someone I know watches the episodes, then if the episode has commentary, watches it again, so he...
I used to not mind bonus discs when it seemed that there was only one for each set. Like there was only one Bonus Disc for Lost Season 1 available at Best Buy. But now it seems there are more than one for each set. Im torn on which Prison Break Bonus disc to get, the one from Best Buy or the one...
If what you say is true, that actually not a good way to do business. If studios only look at full price sales of their sets, that is not a guage of how many people buy the product. I'm sure there are a lot of people who would buy a certain set, just not at full retail price. Personally, I know...
In additon to the biggies like "Family Ties" and "The Wonder Years," I personally would love to see some of the shows I remember watching on USA as part of the USA.M. morning comedy block. Shows like "Fired Up!" "The Naked Truth" and "Veronica's Closet." I would also love to see the recently...
Ehh, not really Sci-Fi in the traditional sense, but to some extent I highly recommend "The Pretender." Also, "Threshold" and "Invasion" are coming out soon, both shows that were cancelled way to soon, "Threshold" being my favorite of the two.
