haha thats why I said they were good for this HT n00b :D now if I had a nice house that I could play my speakers as loud as I wanted to in the bass thing would be a whole different issue. as of now tho what I have is fine.

I hear ya.... I just don't know if the people above, below and on the sides of me will appreciate the extra bass :cool: and the book shelf speakers I have now are pretty darn good in the bass department already..... if I hit the loudness or midnight button (wtf is that anyways?) it becomes...

thanks... I called up Def Tech and had them mail me a new nut for the post. and if I could find someone with the technical manual available for download that'd be killer...

thats exactly what I was looking to do... check ebay for a Def Tech center speaker. piece by piece I'll put it all together.... then eventually I'll get the surrounds and maybe a sub. and if anyone is curious to know how good Def Tech is the tower speakers I have are freakin amazing...

I was able to set to balance the db settings on the receiver and now both speakers sound fine. I think before I just had too many db's going to the right speaker.... tuning is hard when you don't have the owner's manual... ;(

good idea, I'll try that. should have done that first.... like you said to see if its the deck or the speakers.... are you familiar with the "db" settings on the Pioneer receivers? it goes from negative 10 db to positive 10 db.. are these right and left balance settings or sound...
