I didn't realize this was being released. Being a Beatles collector, this one's a must have. Regards, Howard aka "Beatle Bob" :)

The Lemon Drop Kid (1951) - Hope Comes from Shout! Factory

The link to the review with the screen caps looked very good-especially for The Lemon Drop Kid. I'm disappointed no screen caps were shown for My Favorite Brunette. This is probably Hope's best script to be filmed - and to date has been one of the worst PD Hope films on the market. Can...

Martin and Lewis "MONE FROM HOME" DVD

I found it today at Barnes And Nobles at 46th and 5th Ave in NYC! Previewed it on my computer here at work. Color is excellent but image slighly soft and grainy and not quite as good as the Martin and Lewis box sets by Paramount-- but I'll take it--it's Martin and Lewis! :) Regards...

Martin and Lewis "MONE FROM HOME" DVD

Martin and Lewis' "MONEY FROM HOME" was released by Legend Films on 7/1/08. Last week I saw it listed on Target's website, Wal-Mart, Amazon (today it's out of stock) and Best Buy -- yet I can't find it in any retail stores yet (Best Buy, Target, Wal-Mart). I also checked the Virgin Mega Store in...

    The Beatles' Help: 2007 2-Disc Re-Issue (Oct. 30)

I'd run out and get the "Deluxe" edition box set of HELP-- being that it is on sale this week, makes it easier to swallow the still hefty price. Otherwise it retails for about $149.99 here in the U.S. I really have to say it's a 5 Star collection! Between all the archival material on disc #2...

DVD Review HTF DVD REVIEW: The Three Stooges Collection Vol. 1 (1934-1936) (HIGHLY RECOMMENDED)

One bit of disappointing and stupid news in regards to Columbia.... I was just in my local FYE in Manhattan and the old stock DVDs (the one's not remastered such as "Curly's Classics", etc) are now being sold in tins with 3 DVDS each for $26.99. What's the point of this? Why don't they just...

    Popeye the Sailor: Volume 1 (1933-1938) 7/31

Got the POPEYE Vol. 1 yesterday from Best Buy (in collectors tin). OMG! Incredible remastering! The b&w shorts are amazingly clear and pristine. It's amazing the elements from 1933 - 1938 are in such great condition! The two color features (I watched one "Ali Baba")look amazingly vibrant, clean...

    Remastered HOLIDAY INN...Reviews/Screen Caps?

Can someone please review and post screen caps for the new region 1 HOLIDAY INN from Universal (that was taken from the region 2 version issued a few years back)? I have the Universal two-fer with GOING MY WAY. Would like to know if it's worthwhile to upgrade to the new HOLIDAY INN DVD...

20th Century Fox's 'Film Noir Classics' DVD Series

Aside from the one retailer that we found this disc of "Boomerang" last week at...I did see two copies in another retailer here in NYC...so maybe it's more widely distributed than thought? Regards, Howard :)

    The Longest Day (2-disc R1)???

When I tested out my disc last night, I was shocked to see how soft the image actually is! Plus folks like me having a regular square tv (27 inch screen) are killed by these very wide aspact ratios (I don't want to think of watching my "Lawrence of Arabia disc *LOL*) I'm willing to sacrifice...

DVD Review HTF REVIEW: The John Wayne / John Ford Film Collection (HIGHLY RECOMMENDED).

If this doesn't make the top of the Best Box Sets Of The Year, then I don't know what could qualify! OMG it's a fantastic set, and all for a great price! This is one not to pass up! Regards, Howard :)

20th Century Fox's 'Film Noir Classics' DVD Series

Based on this thread I went looking for the Boomerang DVD and found it at my local XXXXXX. They had one copy. Wasn't on sale but it seems like a title that is highly respected in the Film Noir genre and is a great blind buy for me. Regards, Howard :)

    Movie Serials

...and I ain't talking Kellogs folks! *LOL* Trying to decide which movie serials from the 1930's to early 50's I need for my classic DVD collection? I just picked up probably one of the best ones,"The Adventures of Captain Marvel" on Republic DVD...

    Martin & Lewis: Volume I June 13

I've always been a big fan or Martin and Lewis. Very glad to see their movies finally coming to DVD. Though on this box 3 titles are already available from Paramount so I'm holding off until the first box arrives. Their early movies are good, frentic and different for when they started, but...

"The Complete Mr. Arkadian" - (Criterion) Any HTF Reviews?

Couldn't find a thread about this new Criterion release here. Read some reviews on Amazon and DVD Beaver. Wondering though, if someone could post a full HTF review, as I appreciate the details on the reviews here most. If I missed a thread on this, please post the link. Thanking in advance...

DVD Review HTF REVIEW: Laurel and Hardy Gift Set - The Big Noise, Great Guns and Jitterbugs

Hello! Newbie to this forum after years or lurking. Love the fact their are so many knowledgeable film buffs here that I've learned new things from. I've just picked up this Fox set. I happen to be excited even though it' s not the L&H we know from the Hal Roach days, there is still comedy...
