Thanks a million Parker - I'm also interested in what glasses / emitter solution Optoma suggests. Have a great time at CEDIA - and thanks for the information.

Coverage begins Thursday. Make your requests here!

Word is that Optoma will be announcing a 3D converter box that will make the Optoma HD66 projector compatible with 3D Blu-Ray players and broadcast 3D content - and it may be available before the end of the year. I'd love to hear about this, as well as a glasses / emitter solution for the HD66...

Studios Reducing/Ending Retail DVDs of Classics - Warner Interview

I had a conversation w/ a colleague at work yesterday who I only just now discovered has a great interest in older films. He'd just seen "My Darling Clementine" and was raving about it. We discussed the younger generation - and he said that thanks to things like You Tube, he felt there were...

    Warner Archive Discussion Thread (FEEDBACK)

Everyone should make sure they check their discs as they come in. My wife and I only just now sat down to watch "Green Mansions" - and were surprised to discover that while all of the artwork was correct (including the art on the disc itself) - "The Command" was the film actually encoded on the...

Good Gravy - if Convention City has turned up that would certainly make my year! ....But wouldn't that be a shoe-in for centerpiece of a new Forbidden Hollywood collection? I'd hate to see that series go away...

    Warner Archive Discussion Thread (FEEDBACK)

As a buyer of (9) of these at the launch, $15 is the maximum I would pay for title I've been longing for, assuming the interlacing issue is resolved. There are plenty "blind buys" I'd gladly dive into, but the price has got to go much further south before I'd do that again.

    Warner's next HALLOWEEN CLASSICS SET

I also hope we get Peter Lorre in the set along with Bela and Karloff - THE BEAST WITH FIVE FINGERS should be included. Dying to see THE MAD GENIUS too and I hope we will see a Chaney Vol. 2

Snow White to hit Blu-ray SEVEN WEEKS before the DVD

Now this is a clever move - The Blu-Ray /DVD bundle will come packaged in a Blu-Ray case: Amazon.com: Snow White (Two-Disc Blu-ray/DVD Combo + BD Live w/ Blu-ray packaging) [Blu-ray]: Adriana Caselotti, Roy Atwell, Lucille LaVerne, David Hand: Movies & TV - and also a DVD case variant...

    Warner Archive Discussion Thread (FEEDBACK)

It was one of my most wanted too Jacqui! So it looks like the manufacturing process is indeed identical to the RKO Box - I did have a defective disk in that box, so I hope quality control has improved in the few months since then. Assuming thats the case, I hope the price can come down and...

New dvd out on Meet John Doe

Skip all of the others and get the Margengo / Sanctuary UK NTSC Region 0 disc -its worth hunting down. Quality is heads and shoulders above the others, has lots of special features and the cover art is attractive too!

Best version of The Red House? (1947, Edward G. Robinson)

I have the VCI ACME double feature also - and it the best I've seen. Oddly enough my little brother picked up the Alpha version (thinking it was a horror film I guess) - and I compared the quality to the VCI.... I'd stay far away from the Alpha.

It looks like the Warner Archive FAQ has been added (and it makes it clear these are DVD-Rs): WBshop.com - The Official Online Store of Warner Bros. Studios: Warner Archive FAQs Also the list of films is up to 151 - I believe the addition is Tugboat Annie with Marie Dressler and Wallace Beery...

    Warner Archive Discussion Thread (FEEDBACK)

I jumped on the RKO Lost and Found Box Set when that was released and unfortunately 1 out of the 6 titles was defective (Rafter Romance) and froze about 12 minutes in to the film.

    Buying at Tower.com

Tower.com gets a fair amount of negative feedback on-line since they are now owned by caiman - but I order from them fairly regularly ( And yes - often when amazon has a sale, Tower has the same sale, but prices are a bit lower). No problems for me and I've been very pleased so far. Mark

Win your choice of two amazing DVD collections!

Another Carole Lombard fan - - - but I'll say Barbara Stanwyck this week. I'm surprised no one has said Sophia Loren or Catherine DeNueve yet!

Is the format war about to resurface? Does Toshiba have the Blu-ray killer?

Is the apparent technology being used the super-resolution as explained / shown at thedeemon.com? Long time lurker - but I can't post URLs to other sites after I've made 10 posts or more - - - LOL

Humphrey Bogart: Signature Collection Vol. 2 See Post #8 Lack of Reviews

Hi Jeff, I want the Maltese Falcon slipcase too - LOL. I wouldn't be surprised if the ommision was an error at the manufacturing / assembling level and the problem wasn't caught until after the shrinkwrapped boxes had shipped from the plant. With so many reviewers commenting that their...
