I'm very satisfied with the HD reception, and agree with everyone that it is easier to pick up OTA with the H20. Only complaint is that menu could be faster. You get used to it after awhile. Not a big deal though.

Ray, Does that same vendor also carry the Panny projector. Maybe he's pushing his preferred vendor.

Visual Apex has the 900 for a little less than $1900 and $400 rebate for purchases up till 3/31/06. Only a few days left. I also considered the Z4, but in the end chose the 900. Can't go wrong either way.

My vote is for the Panasonic PT-AE900U. I'm biased because I own one and couldn't be happier. You should also try to go with HDMI input because it will give you the best video quality.

Thanks. If I do the test by turning off the sub, do I change the surrounds to Large or keep them at Small. I'll also try to reverse the connection at the speakers, and at the receiver surround speaker input just to check there wasn't a mistake at manufacturing.

Yes, rear surrounds are set to small. They are B&W DM602 S2 brand. I haven't tried the sub rumble tones with sub off yet, what do you feel that would show. Thanks.

I thought receivers send out 75dB test tones at reference level. Should you adjust your channel levels to read 75dB on an SPL meter?

Patrick, Since you stated you are using receiver's internal test tones, shouldn't you be calibrating to 75dB? I think only AVIA test tones is calibrated to 85dB.

If you are still deciding on screens, I would highly recommend Carada Brilliant White, it's a 1.4 gain screen and is top quality.

Joel, By plugging in a 100" diagonal screen on the calculator, you are correct that the maximum distance the projector can be put at is 20.2 feet. But you need to look at the Throw Distance ruler and it states the minimum distance is 10.1 feet. So if you mount anywhere between 10.1-20.2 feet...
