Guys, i need some expertise... So my laptops backlight finally crapped out leaving me with a black screen. So for a temporary fix, i hooked it up to the PC input on my Panasonic 42 PWD8UK plasma. now i can see the screen, but the colors are all off. Thinking to troubleshoot, i hooked it up...
guys, i am thinking of replacing the factory remote that came with my Marantz SR7300. either with another factory one or an aftermarket one. here's the post from the remote section. http://www.hometheaterforum.com/htf/...d.php?t=249357 any advice would be welcome. Thanks
Guys, the military moved me and now i cant find my Marantz remote anywhere. i have a Marantz SR7300. i have been using the Tivo remote with the Marantz remote until now and didn't mind having two remotes. but now that i may have to buy a remote, what is a good one to replace the factory one...
I am using my atoms as surrounds but have listened to them as stero also. and youre right, they are performers! i like the cc-170 also. i have really been impressed by paradigm.
yeah, i know exactly what you are saying. i thought the performance line looked almost "cheap" compared to the MS line, (they do use alot more plastic than other speakers)but like i said in the writeup...for what i wanted them for, the Paradigms delivered. they were more as you said, 'dynamic'...
You are exactly right. i would have loved to audition the 906s. however, they both were not in stock and out of my price range. they were under very similar conditions with the same denon reciever. honestly, i believe a second mid-bass driver on the 906s would give the low end punch that the...
I just went with a Paradigm performance combo: Phantom fronts, Atom surrounds, and the CC-170 center. i spent considerable time looking at the monitor line but just didn't have the money. in my opinion, the monitor line sounds better than their studio line. you will also like their in-wall...
Ok - first my standard disclaimer; im definately not an audiophile. however, i can tell the difference between good and bad speakers. as a reference and a little background, i lived in a townhouse before i was married last year where my best friend and i had a pretty nice setup. we had a Marantz...
Guys, i need some more advice: i am interested in Hsu's STF-1 but am worried if it will be enough of a sub. in my old house, we had an SVS PCi sub and i loved it. so, in my price range, i am looking at the PB10. i really need to not spend the extra money as im also buying speakers, a...
Does any one have any pics of that particular color of MS veneer. I am going next week to audition them, but would like a heads-up on the color if possible. thanks everyone.
found Mordaunt Short 914s for $379/ pair. they are supposed to match my Marantz sr7300 very well, so i am auditioning them also. Between the MS and Paradigm Performances, which is preferable? not as many people seem to own MS speakers, but they get superb reviews.
tthanks for your responses. im auditioning paradigms next week. i am just wondering if the bookshelves that are twice as expensive will sound better than the JBL e80s. they are $166 ea at bhphoto.com right now. shipped.
$350 (center/surrounds) to $1500 (mains) range. in my opinion, they are just about perfect (at least for me) in both home theater and for music. i spent two years listening to them in both environments and they are the most neutral sounding speaker i have ever heard paired with a Marantz 7300...
I am in need of those with more experience than i. my delima is that i am forced to decide between mains with more drivers and one with 'better' drivers. for instance, i feel that a floorstander with two 6.5 in drivers, one 4 in driver, and a 1 in tweeter would have a "fuller" sound than one...
referencing the last two posts, as stated in the original post, i like B&W speakers like we used to have. the light wood. (birch, maple, etc) i would try to post a pic, but am not allowed.
thank you for your responses. i have heard that bostons tend to be very bright. however, i have not listened to them myself. i have used their products in my cars for years, so i do like them. i have looked at the ascends but they just aren't what i am looking for. again, thanks for your input.
How is everyone- just now registering on this forum after reading for about two years. a good friend is a member and urged me to gain advice on an upcoming home theater setup. i really need to decide on speakers. back ground on my tastes, etc. i am NOT by any means an audiophile. just an...
