what's the max on front projectors, 300 or peak out...
can't remember where i read this, but i seem to recall that windows HDMI output is only 24/48 max even if you've set it to be 24/192 because windows automatically downsamples everything.
is that true?
it basically renders playing 24/192 flac from HTPC useless

howdy! there were some owner threads from many years ago... but i thought i'd start one a fresh.
i just landed myself a RB990 and have a quick question. is it OK to stack on top of it? the heat appears to be dissipating from top and bottom (mostly bottom) where a ton of fins are.
any tips...
i searched and couldn't find any previous threads for this.... so i thought i'd start one.
just entered the "4k race" as it were with an older model P605. wanted to know what calibration settings you are using for this model/tv. these are ones i've found from google...

please ping me with your tel# and we can discuss the details over the phone.
so i got meself a kill a watt and started to realize my primary NAS (Dell PowerEdge t610) is costing me roughly $300+/year! and yes it's on 24/7. it's currently got roughly 6+TB storage on there out of 12.6TB of usable space.
the only thing i do with it is:
-file-share storage
-make local...
For brand new movies, especially ones that were mixed in Atmos from 3 years ago, I have stopped buying them altogether. For older classics, black and white films... I don't care as much on the audio side. I won't care if they remixed casablanca or nosferatu in Atmos... but i would love those in...
think about it... even with the recent Onkyo they are still limited by the # of speakers and the recommended placements! there'll be many other fabs announcing things to come.this is the perfect time for pre-amp/processors to have Atmos or MDA built-in. then spit that signal out to...
so I finally go around to streaming videos (yes I'm very behind). i have multiple players but decided to use my BDT300 as it is the most current as far as I know.
I am running firmware 1.85 amazon prime works.
Netflix and vudu does not. when I tried to login as my vudu account I get an error...
i'm making backups of my purchased blu-rays that I own in fear of it being destroyed in a fire or scratches.
I have discovered that # of Blu-Ray movies actually have more sectors/data than a blank BDR or BDRE, how is that possible? Back in the DVD5 or DVD9 days... it was the same across the...

to clarify i am referring to this: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Color_depth
and this: http://www.techhive.com/article/171223/10_bit_color.html
so why are we settling for 16.7mil colors vs. 68BILLION?
i thought we were all video enthusiasts?
with the possible 4k-based blu-rays.... why aren't...
with Dolby Atmos and DTS offering similar schemas in MDA, it makes sense for AVRs to also evolve to match the new future formats. as you know. these 2 formats will eventually make it down to AVR, so we will see a number of AVRs in the next 5 years from denon, Yamaha, etc. the usual suspects...
Source: http://www.facebook.com/bestbuy kind of a shocker... B&W are usually high end boutique stores... not mass retailers. very strange mixture in the marketplace. another sign that the current economic climate is here to stay (permanently).
i won't be able to make the chat, but those of you who do, please please please tell WB to INCLUDE lossless audio on TV shows like Smallville and Fringe! I hope to buy Fringe Season 2 with lossless audio and have a re-release of S1 w/lossless!
