No sub output from Denon AVR-1802

I think that may have been it. I can't be sure because I pretty much disconnected and reset everything but it seems to be working now. I had recently changed my front center speaker to a larger model so I had changed that setting to large. It's back to small now.....so I assume changing those...

No sub output from Denon AVR-1802

Help? Is my receiver broken? Quick rundown of my audio setup. Denon AVR-1802, fiber 1 directly from DVD player, fiber 2 from Joytech switch for Xbox 360, PS2, & Wii. Digital coax hooked to comcast box. I noticed my sub wasn't playing yesterday when I had some music being channeled from my...

Why are some of my HD channels square rather than widescreen?

Thanks Ken! Didn't know about that. Changed a couple setting after getting into that menu and it fixed everything right up. Appreciate it!

Why are some of my HD channels square rather than widescreen?

Great post Joesph. Thanks. Definitely no screen setting on my Adelphia box.(I can't wait for Comcast to come take them over in my area). As for the DVD player using HDMI, what do you mean the "coming" ones? Aren't there already a lot of HD DVD players on the market right now? Or do you...

Why are some of my HD channels square rather than widescreen?

The show that really got me started on this thread was my local morning news and evening news. Supposibly they just changed to HD but all their stuff comes in letterbox size. It's an NBC affiliate. What's weird is if I change the input to one of the S-vid ones it still doesn't fill the screen...

Why are some of my HD channels square rather than widescreen?

OK, I was wrong about Bones, it does show in full widescreen. I guess just some of the shows that are claiming to be HD either aren't, or are but just aren't in widescreen if that's possible. I'm thinking about just hooking my cablebox back to one of the component inputs and getting a new...

Why are some of my HD channels square rather than widescreen?

As far as I can tell, there are no setting on my cable box to change display settings whatsoever. It's a Dual Tuner/HD DVR Motorola DCT6212 III if that helps at all. Aspect ratio is set for 16:9 for the HDMI output. Actually, it only allows me to set it to either 16:9 or 4:3 when on the HDMI...

Why are some of my HD channels square rather than widescreen?

I recently purchased my first HDTV(thanks to help on here, Samsung 50" DLP). I have Adephia digital cable with the HD pack (something like 10 channels at most). Anyways, I first had it hooked up using component cables and all shows filled the entire screen(I know some were stretched). I bought...

    Choice of 2 DLP TV's

I ended up going with the Samsung. Got a heck of a deal for it I think. It's torturing me right this second though. Sitting in the living room unwrapped. I promised the wife I'd build the new entertainment stand before unpacking it. Think I've done all I can hack on it for tonight. I'll get it...

    Choice of 2 DLP TV's

Thanks Rick, yeah they mentioned that to me. I was going to buy the TV tonight at Target because a friend works there and was going to use his discount but they didn't have any on the floor. I stopped by Hifi Buys just to see what they'd say to my out the door price at Target and they beat it so...

    Choice of 2 DLP TV's

Wow, good price on that at Amazon. I considered getting it online but just don't like the idea of such a big ticket item in cause it had any issues upon arrival. I think I may end up getting it at Circuit City. They have it for 1899 this weekend.

    Choice of 2 DLP TV's

I'm picking up a tv this weekend and pretty much decided on the Samsung HLR5067W when a salesmen started trying sell me on a Mitsubushi WD52327 for the same price. It's 2 inches bigger but I could care less about that. Aesthetically I like the Samsung better but if someone can tell me some other...
