I was going to get the PE 250w amp from a guy, but his cat accidentally knocked it off a table after I waited for 3 months. I am now in need of a used plate amp, preferrably the same model or something else that will fit in a 9"W x 9.25" hole. Thanks.
Anyone know what woofers are used in these subs? They don't look like any of the woofers that are listed on the Dayton Audio website. All of their woofers have regular dustcaps, not inverted like the new budget subs.
I'm going to be building an 8.4ft^3 sub using the Dayton 15" DVC driver (heard it's almost identical to the Tempest), I'll try to report back once I'm done, should start construction next weekend.
They actually sound really good, about as good as my Athena Point 5 speakers. Even just two of them seem to fill up my 25x15 basement. I was expecting them to sound like crap, but they sound pretty good and look nice too. http://photobucket.com/albums/d43/de...=100_07071.jpg I was worried...
What about the Athena Point 5s? They're pretty small (8.5x5.5x6.5), and in my opinion, sound great, especially for the price. I think they look pretty nice too.
My friend and I are doing a science fair project together, and recently came up with a new idea since our old one crashed and burned. We were originally going to test housing structures under variable wind speeds, but have a new project in mind. We're going to be constructing two pairs of...
The new Zen Vision:M looks pretty cool. Plus it comes with an FM tuner and voice/line in recorder. Also, Creative players are supposed to have awesome sound quality, better than the iPod.
Hey I just got these speakers on Thursday, I must say they sound amazing, well to my ears at least. This may be because I previously had htib speakers, but these definitely sound good. I can see what people are talking about when they say they sound bright...but it's not harsh or anything like...
Actually I ordered the Point 5 set and was going to upgrade the fronts, but I'm going to put my money into my DIY sub now, thanks for the offers though!
I think I read somewhere that Sony really overinflates their power ratings, I saw a chart once with the manufacturer's posted power ratings, and then the actual tested power ratings, but I can't find it now.
Oh, thanks. I'm really trying to keep costs down, the Quattro is a little too much I think. Are there any other good, cheap options? I was considering the Swan 305 because some guy said that he thought it was a really good woofer for the price.
I'm thinking of making a sub instead of buying one, and I'm on a very tight budget. I'm thinking $180 max. I found on the Madisound website the Swan 305 for $58, and the Eminence Eclipse 12" for $61 the specs are here I tried using WinISD, but I have no idea how. I was thinking of using a...
Hi I'm finally ready to purchase my speakers in a few hours, I just need a few suggestions. I can get the Micra 6 Package or 4 Athena AS-B1s and 1 Athena AS-C1 for about the same price. The room I'll be putting it in is about 25 x 15 x 8, with the theater part of it using a 15 x 15 portion. I...
Thanks, the only reason I have to place it there is because we have a computer desk in the other corner. Wouldn't the output of the subwoofer actually be boosted? How about the speakers, since they're rear ported, do you think I need to increase the cabinet size?
Hi I currently have a 65H14 RP CRT and am looking to upgrade my speakers from an HTIB to some Athena AS-B1s, an AS-C1, and a 12" Dayton Subwoofer. I'm wondering if it's alright to put the bookshelf speakers in a cabinet that I'm going to build sometime next year. Heres a few pictures: (First...
