Hey all, I was just wondering if anyone had any experience with the tv I mentioned in my subject, manf. model 42HL196. I work at Sears, and we just got this set in. I decided to hook it up to the Toshiba HD-DVD player that we had on display. It got hooked up through HDMI, and the HDDVD player...
Hey All, Was looking around at some LCD TV's the other day, and noticed that some have a VGA in for a PC. Then I got to thinking, would it be possible to run a DVI-HDMI cable from video card to HD LCD? The cabling makes sense, but would it work?
Immunity is definitely getting easier to acquire, and faster too... According to the preview for next week, we get to look forward to Aaron using his super-finding-skills to somehow locate Palmer in the middle of the woods...That oughta be a good one. And is it just me, or has there not...
I'm thrilled with my HD purchase. I went from a 27" Samsung SD TV to 56" 1080p Toshiba DLP. If that's not a big jump, I don't know what is. I've watched so many HD concerts of bands I don't even like, just because it looks so freakin' good....That's not even mentioning the NFL games I was able...
I went with the Tosh 56HM195 about a month after they appeared in my local big box store. Still haven't gotten around to calibrating (don't have a disc), but I love the picture on this set. Just put it through a rigorous test- an all-night movie marathon consisting of six movies (The Man...
While I don't have experience with the 60GB model, my 4GB Mini charges on the USB cable, because I don't have a wall adapter. It charges fully, and works fine...
Hey all, I have a Sammy HD845 hooked up via HDMI to my Toshiba 56HM195, upconverting to 1080i. I was poking through the setup menu on the Sammy, and noticed different color options in the Video setup sub-menu. The options are RGB-Normal, RGB-Expand, YCbCr-(4:4:4), and YCbCr-(4:2:2). Not...
Hey all, I've been following the threads on Blu-ray/HD-DVD pretty closesly, and I got to wondering about which retailers are going to be even carrying this stuff. Is it going to be any and all from the get-go, or will it be online only? Has there been any word on this?
As a sales weenie for a big box company (Sears), I gotta agree with everything that has been said here to this point. I recieved no meaningful training when I started in their electronics dept. All my information has been obtained through my own research, and most of my opinions and suggestions...
I've got a simlir version to the Tosh your looking at, the 56HM195, their 1080p DLP model. Had it for 2 months now, no problems whatsoever. Really enjoy the picture I get out of it. The NFL is killer on the set...
I recently purchased a Toshiba 56HM195, which is their 1080p 56" DLP model. To date, it's amazing. Watching the NFL in HD on this set is unreal. However, am I going to have a firmware issue to recieve 1080p content, as Scott said?
"SANTO DOMINGO, Dominican Republic -- Baltimore Orioles shortstop Miguel Tejada said Thursday he's unhappy with the team's direction and wants to be traded."- I find the timing of this announcement, coming right after a SS job opens just north of Baltimore, quite intriguing...I wonder if...
Just purchased the Toshiba 56HM195 56" 1080p DLP rear projection set. It's due to be picked up tomorrow, so I was wondering if anyone has had any experience with this particular set, just to make myself feel better/worse about the purchase. TIA!
