I just checked www.bluraysavings.com. It appears that they have started a new promotion as of October 1st, 2007 and it appears that the Samsung BDP-UP5000 is not going to be one of the new eligible players for the new 5 free promotion.
I am sorry if I am repeating this, but, once the update has completed, is there a way to go back and just check the FW version. Is it buried in a submenu somewhere or can I get it by pressing a combination of buttons?
I tried looking on the site to see what gets updated and could not find it. Do you what gets updated or at least do you know where you can point me so I can find it myself. I could not find anything on their website.
I bought a Marantz SR4001 last August and I am really liking it. (the wife hates the remote, but that is to be expected). It has hdmi switching, but it is lony hdmi v1.1. The question is: am I able to update to v1.2 or v1.3a?
I am not sure what player you are using. On the PS3, you need to change the audio output to linear PCM from bitstream to get the 5.1 PCM audio (uncompressed) I have the Marantz SR4001. Hope that helps.
Is there anything that needs to be done in the setup menu of the PS3 or of the controller to activate the motion sensor? Need for Speed Carbon says that it is motion capable, but I am not seeing it.
I have a new marantz SR4001 with hdmi switching (v1.1) My question is: Am I completely out of luck of getting the new audio on BD and HDDVD discs or is there anything that anyone knows that is possible for me being able to get the dts-HD as well as the Dolby TrueHD audio? I do not have...
Here is a link for a Samsung laptop with a HDDVD drive. http://www.engadget.com/2006/09/28/s...op-yes-HD-DVD/ Try to focus on what is on the foreground and not the background (not Ice Age)
I would guess that the PS3 would follow suit with the failed PSP in that the movies are locked, but games are region free. This is just an educated guess.
