One Day At A Time - April 24!!!

Not a lot of love on this board for ODAAT! Well, even though I've heard that season one is not the best, I'm looking forward to it as I've never seen it. And I'm also happy that they're including the reunion special. It was fairly well done, as those specials go, and the whole cast looked great.

    Music Replacement

Am I the only one who, these days, when hearing popular music on a TV show, cringes? I'm sure that producers are more savvy now about getting DVD rights before they include a song in their shows, but I always wonder, "Will I hear this music when the show is released on DVD?" When it comes to...

    Scarecrow & Mrs. King

That's the same thing that happened to me, Jonathan. After following some troubleshooting links on the site, I found some small print that said that IN2TV was only available in the US, "due to licensing restrictions." Very disappointing.

    Scarecrow & Mrs. King

Was really looking forward to viewing those Scarecrow episodes, but after struggling with IN2TV for a couple hours, discovered that the content is not available in Canada -- which is where I am. Sucks.

Linda Henning (star of PJ and daughter of Paul Henning, the show's creator)has said that there are ongoing negotiations with Paramount to get the rights to release more episodes.

    Cagney & Lacey on dvd?

Liz Smith's column today says, "SIR HOWARD Stringer of Sony, once the head of CBS, and producer Barney Rosenzweig are working together on a 25th-anniversary DVD edition of the groundbreaking "Cagney & Lacey" TV series, which starred Tyne Daly and Barney's wife, Sharon Gless." Great news!

    Beverly Hillbillies Season Sets?

Couldn't find it in Vancouver, either, Tom, but I see that it is available at C&L in Burnaby. That's the only place I was able to find the Petticoat Junction set. I'm not able to post the URL, but the web address for C&L is thecnl.com.

    Petticoat Junction - Anyone?

Was just checking the Shady Rest Message Board, and a regular (and reliable) poster there wrote that she spoke with Linda Henning the other day. Apparently the Henning family is speaking to Paramount to try to get the rights for future releases -- great news! Finally found a copy of this set...

    Petticoat Junction - Anyone?

When I ordered mine, there was no estimated shiping date listed on the product page, although when they set the order confirmation to me, it said November 1. I e-mailed them about it, and they said that they didn't think it would be that long, but because they didn't have a confirmed shipping...

    Petticoat Junction - Anyone?

Thanks for that tip, Brent -- I've never heard of C&L. It's a bit far for me (no car), but I'll try to get out there on the weekend. Looking forward to this set. Loved the show as a kid in the 70s when I saw it in syndication. The station I watched in on even aired the black and white...

    Petticoat Junction - Anyone?

Brent, I'm also in Vancouver and I've been unable to find a copy of this collection anywhere. Well, okay not anywhere, but I haven't found it at Best Buy or Future Shop, which are good bets for most sets. Where'd you get yours? Currently I've got it ordered from amazon.ca but their estimated...

Replaced Theme - How should it be done?

Number 4 would be okay, as long as it was not a show where some episodic credits were included in the opening. Little House, as has been mentioned, had this problem. To give another example, option 4 would not work for a Love Boat release. I also don't mind option 1 (new audio with old...

Why are syndicated episodes so bad?

Although obviously I would vastly prefer the original, uncut versions, there are occasions where I would consider purchasing sets that included syndicated episodes. For me, it comes down to this: would I be able to watch this show on television currently (or am I likely to be able to) in...
