I dunno. I picked up the old set at a pawn shop for less than ten bucks a few months ago, knowing the new set is on it's way. To be honest, the only one I would care about buying again is the 'Billy Jack' movie itself.
The Sony sub should do you fine, at least for awhile. I bought one several months ago but got the upgrade fever and bought a Velodyne not long afterwards... I sold the Sony to a pal at work and he's as happy as can be with it! There are worse subs for the money out there, and if this is your...
You might want to check your DVD player and make sure you have the audio settings set correctly so you can utilize the DTS audio format. Hell, I have buddies who have DVD players that can't decode DTS at all! Just a note to say that you're making a good movie IMO by getting away from the Polk...
This was one savvy move by the powers that be. Have the DVD ready, see that the box office for this movie was a bust, and still get the disc out in time for Christmas- a time when lots of people are on holidays and vacations, probably spending alot of time in front of their TVs in the evenings...
I LOVE the movie and I DESPISE the DVD transfer. What is pathetic about this one is, this is their 'special edition' version.....I owned the one that came before this (with a better cover) but the only difference I've seen in the two is the added commentary track and documentary.....they did...

I'm a big fan of many mentioned already and would like to add Blade II.......incredible DTS-ES track. That track will make your equipment work and keep you in the action to be sure!
Having always been a WWII/history buff I recently read Junge's book; she tells a very quiet story about a Hitler most would never conceive of. After hearing about this movie it's been one I've wanted to pick up as well. While not a bad movie itself, I expect this to blow away the old HBO...
I've got the WS version of this as well and frankly, it doesn't look too bad- I've seen LOTS of movies look and sound worse than this one, since it also sports a 5.1 track. That's not to say I wouldn't love seeing a superbit version, however. I actually saw this during it's theater run :)
