I had a Super 8 film edition of 2001 back in 1981. Cost me $300 at the time. It's long gone, but I've had pretty much every other format since then.

I was 17 when this came out in 1979, and saw it several times in the theater. I loved it. Over the years, my opinion has slipped. It's now more of a guilty pleasure.

In case it hasn’t been mentioned, the UK edition of the TMP-DE box is five discs, with the DE and theatrical versions also on Blu-Ray, whereas the US version is UHD only. EDIT: And it’s listed as region-free.

Forgive my ignorance, but can someone elaborate on the original color timed version on the second Blu-Ray? Does this match the look of the original theatrical release?

Is nobody else excited to see this release? I'll be the first to admit it isn't a great movie, but I think it's a very entertaining one, with some appealing performances by the young stars.

I had no issues playing this disc on my modified Oppo, although I did have to manually select Region B.

Looking forward to this release! I'm 58 years old, but not very familiar with classic musicals. I'm hoping to change that. I bought The Pirate based on what I read here at HTF, and, in spite of its narrative flaws, enjoyed it very much.

I was in my late teens when this came out, and loved it! Saw it at least 3 times in the theater, and wore out my cassette soundtrack. I bought the recent CD reissue of the soundtrack, but haven't seen the movie itself in decades. I'm eager for the chance to revisit it!

I think 3D was the prime consideration when it came to using the full screen for Avatar.
