I was wondering if anyone has an advanced reviewer's Family Ties Season 5. I wanted to know if Paramount left in the song "Born to Be Wild" from the classic episode "A, My Name is Alex" and if this episode has been split into two parts or shown as one complete episode was it was originally...
Is anyone else having trouble locating a copy of Beverly Hillbillies: The Official Third Season. I'm going to go ahead and order a copy from Amazon, but it concerns me that Best Buy, Barnes & Noble, Borders, Target or Wal-Mart (those are just the stores I've checked around town) have not stocked...
Just picked up my copy too! Who else picked up a copy? God, I hope this thing sells, and suprises the hell out of the Paramount execs. We may have to get Alexis to go over there and slap some sense into these folks.
I completely agree with everything as stated above by Tom_Tagliente19. Friday nights in the 80s were not complete in my household without my parents sitting down to watch the combination of Dallas and Falcon Crest back to back on CBS. I was very young at the time, but it was a tradition that was...
This really doesn't matter to me. I'm actually glad to see they're releasing them in the order that they originally were aired. It preserves the "completeness" of the sets. I also PRAY that music changes are extremely limited, if none at all. Now, just waiting on Ally and L.A. Law!
I completely concur. Paramount even had the decency to work with the original music supervisors from the shows to find the best possible way to work around the situation. As long as the episodes have not been edited lengthwise, I'm perfectly ok with this.
YES!!!! I can't believe today's news from TVSoDVD!!! I NEVER thought we'd see the release of St. Elsewhere in 2006 but according the the website we'll see the first season in December! This has made my day. I needed a pick me up since today is the first anniversary of Katrina. WONDERFUL...
I'm such a dork, but here's how I watch season sets. I usually watch about 7-8 eps a night for hour long episodes depending on the lengths (8 eps= 42-45 min eps; 7 eps=46-50 min eps). And I watch 12 eps a night for half-hour episodes. I start at 7 PM CT and usually watch until 12 or 1AM. (I...
I'm not sure if music rights would be an issue is the 60s Chipmunks, but it would most definitely would be for the 80s version. I recently dug into my tape collection and found a video of the show that my mom bought me when I was like 6 to show to my nieces and nephews (yeah right!). While...
Bought today at Best Buy (my favorite brick and mortar store in the WORLD):
Dallas: Season 5
Hazel: Season 1
Curb Your Enthusiasm: Season 5
and from Target:
Beavis and Butthead: The Mike Judge Collection, Vol. 3 (w/Target exclusive bonus disc)
On the Wally Gator issue, WHV went back and looked at the original masters of the show and saw what bad shape the episodes were in. They decided to pull the release from the schedule indefinitely so that they can do some intensive restoration efforts. Its not completely canceled just postponed...
I like buying complete series in drips and drabs. Some people like me live paycheck to paycheck, and can't afford to buy their dvds at HUGE amount at a time.
Since my last post I have bought:
Amazing Stories: Season 1
The Incredible Hulk: Season 1
The Boondocks: Season 1
J.A.G.: Season 1
Animaniacs, Vol. 1
Pinky and the Brain, Vol. 1
Tales from the Crypt: Season 4
Rawhide: Season 1
The street date is actually July 4, but all the other info is correct. I am seriously not happy about those 4 syndicated episodes. I guess they figure that since we've waited for over 2 years, then we'll take anything we can get. Well, its true. I will be buying this regardless.
Recently I have bought the following shows:
X-Files: Seasons 1, 2 and 3 (Lower priced re-issues)
I Dream of Jeannie: Season One (B&W)
Tales from the Crypt: Season 3
Roseanne: Seasons 2 & 3
Bewitched: Season 3
Murder, She Wrote: Season 3
Cosby Show: Season 2
Gimme a Break: Season...
I have a quick question in preparation for tomorrow night's chat with Warner Home Video. Does Warner still own the rights to pre-1970s MGM titles or have they reverted back to Sony when Sony bought MGM? If they still own them, then to what year to these titles go? Any response from anyone with...
Do you think that Michael J. Fox's recent stint on "Boston Legal" will renew interest in his past stuff, like Family Ties? Also something that needs to be put on the radar is Spin City (owned by Fox), which I am LOVING in reruns on FX.
Hey! I resent that! There ARE people under 25 that read this, ya know. As for Dobie Gillis (yes I do remember it from Nick at Nite), tvshowsondvd lists it as being a Fox title, but that doesn't mean its fact, I guess. I really would love to see it on dvd, along with other early Nick at Nite...
I agree. Universal has sealed the fate of Kate & Allie. Sony has the right idea with Facts of Life. Why couldn't Universal have done the same thing?? I'm going to buy it anyway just to get the message across to Uni to get more seasons out.
Here's the dilemma: do we not purchase HSB:S1 due to the poor quality and risk Fox (who is notorious for doing this) abondoning the series because of poor sales or do we get it and suffer through the poor quality. I've already bought it before I knew about the quality issue and am about to watch...
I wish they would put the unaired pilot of All in the Family on one of the sets. Its technically not "unaired". All in the Family first debuted on TV Land, they showed that alternate pilot, and, to my knowledge, it hasn't been aired since. Unfortunately, I watched it, but didn't tape it. That...
