In Iraq, TV Advice for when I return

David, to answer your quesion about the projector; I have it in a dedicated room and therefore no ambient light affects it. For general purpose use I would think TV is the way to go and I see that you have received a lot of great feedback. All the best to you all there. JR

In Iraq, TV Advice for when I return

I am sure that the folks here will help out as I am more familiar with the projector end of things I'll reserve comment on your question. I just wanted to reply to say thank you to you and your fellow soldiers. Me and my family all really appreciate and admire your service. JR

Service plan a good idea or not?

Burnt pixels are also a concern. You need to know if just one requires repair or if they have some threshold number that must be met before repair or replacement. From my point of view I would expect one is enough but they may not agree. JR

    InFocus 'acceptable missing pixels'?

Update as promised. I have now received and installed an exchange unit as the part that was bad in the original unit is on backorder; and it seems that part will be unavailable for some time. In any event, I am back in business with a unit that shows no missing pixels so I am a happy...

    InFocus 'acceptable missing pixels'?

Mike, thanks. InFocus has stepped up and I hope this will be resolved in the next few days. The unit is in their hands now so I'm looking forward to getting it back. I will be much more aware of this in the future as I did find out about all this stuff the 'hard way'. Once I get the unit...

    InFocus 'acceptable missing pixels'?

Travis, thank you for the suggestion but I am happy to report that it will not be necessary. InFocus has taken the issue on and my case has resulted in a RMA that will have them fix the missing pixel. For the other folks here I suggest that taking no for an answer is not always the way to...

    InFocus 'acceptable missing pixels'?

Update as of 6/7/05. Called back again spoke to customer service and now a "case" has been opened. I don't know what to expect yet but I am NOT going to let this simply die as I will continue to make noise up to whatever level is needed to get some satisfaction. I refuse to accept a...

    InFocus 'acceptable missing pixels'?

Based on the great reviews here I have an InFocus 4805. There is one missing pixel that appears as a black spot on white backgrounds that has developed. InFocus service is claiming "4 or 5 pixels" have to be out to be a problem. Anyone here experienced this nonsense? I paid for all the pixels...

Things I wish I would have done differently in my project

OK, here's my two-cents. I have just finished my theater and thanks to all here avoided some pit-falls. I did miss two things pointed out in this thread and I have been able to resolve one rather easily. I did not put a switch on the outlet for the projector and since the fan does not ever...

The seats are Lovan seats from a company in california they have a site at lovanusa.com. I heard about them on this forum somewhere along the line and found them a good value and the company is easy to deal with and very communicative. Thanks again to you all and I will visit the sticky...
