I was looking at picking up a used Hitachi HD rear projection TV, model #43uwx10b. I currently have a satelite signal but do not plan on upgrading to HD at this time. Will I be disappointed watching non-HD satelite tv with this set? Or will the digital quality of satellite give me the...
Steve, you might want to view the reviews of this receiver on the Audioreview website. I may be mistaken, but I think this receiver has a history of this problem. However, I had this receiver in the past and never experienced the problem. Again, not sure if it was this Onkyo but give it a look.
I am currently running a Marantz 7400 receiver with a Panasonic DVD-S97. Do to equipment access issues, I have not tried experimenting with the DVD DACs vs. the Marantz DACs. Any reason to think there would be an improvement by utilizing the Pani DAC's? Also, if I have calibrated by...
Does anyone know how/if I can connect a Marantz 7400 receiver to a B&K amp so that the amp will turn on when the receiver does? Is this a DC trigger? Thanks
My experience was opposite. I bought the B&W,s first but then returned due to being to bright. I like the Swans alot but admittely delievery is slow with the Swans. Not sure if it cause everyone is buying them or Jon at Audio Insider just doesnt order enough???
Thanks John, thats what I have been trying to decide if a 125w to 150w seperate amp would prove to be a benefit or not for HT usage. Also trying to find a 200W 3 channel but not many out there.
I have seen one used on the web indicating 170 watts per channel. Everything from Marantz says its 150 watts per channel. Is this a case of someone "pumping" up the wattage or are there different models out there?? Also, assuming its 150 watts, would that be a noticeble difference from say...
Any Adcom amp owners out there? I am looking to add an Adcom amp to Marantz 7400 and Swan speakers but do not want to add any "brightness" to the sound. Would I have any issues with an Adcom?? Thanks.
I have been looking at several used power amps, one is a Kenwood 125x6, another Adcom 3x100, 2x60 and the other Rotel 5x100. Utilizing a Marantz 7400 as a pre/pro, would there be any "noticeble" difference between the 125 watts vs 100 watts? Also, would any of these amps be "brighter"...
I agree John, I didnt think I was missing out on anything at all. I am not sure if 6.1/7.1 is that much better than 5.1 anyway. I was just wondering if there was a way to bridge them. During the setup it does ask if you are using 1 or 2 back channel speakers.
I have a 7.1 receiver but I am only using 1 back surround speaker. I am utilizing a 4 ohm dipole speaker in the rear. Since this is a 4 ohm speaker and I have an open channel, is there a way to hook up that back surround to the two channels for a little more juice to drive the back speaker? Thanks.
Damon, I have the 7400 also. I was just recently making some adjustments utilizing the LOTR Two Towers DVD. Now I have a 6.1 setup with just 1 rear surround back speaker and not 2 back surrounsd. I had no problem getting sound out of the back surround speaker. I will check again. Not sure if...
The system sounds good as is but still wonderin if the amp will give it the extra boost. I guess thats why I,m not looking to spend big bucks at this time since I am not necessarily looking to play it loud. Current levels are in the -25 db range. I am looking used, so if it does not turn out...
I have the 2.1s as mains and C3 center, HSU Stf -2 for base. The room is fairly large 20 x 25 basement but the listening area is much smaller. This is 99% utilized for HT.
I am currently running Swan speakers from a Marantz 7400 for HT usage. While I really enjoy the sound of this setup, I was thinking of trying to add something extra to the sound. I was looking to utilize the Marantz 7400 as a pre/pro, and then add a power amp. I was looking at the Outlaw 7100 or...
