    Film Noir Custom Covers

I'm using the fat set - can't find a store in the UK that stocks the 14mm cases. Not to worry though, they're still a huge space saver :)

    Film Noir Custom Covers

I like the sepia for the Tough Guys set. The first 8 noir volumes are happily sat on my shelf now - thanks again Ric, these are just great.

Yet another peach - many thanks Ric :)

    Film Noir Custom Covers

These are utterly superb. I'm usually ruthless with DVD packaging; nearly all covers go into recycling & the cases donated to charity shops, but I haven't had the heart to do it to the noirs - I'll be using these covers for sure though, many thanks :)

"Starship Troopers" & "Hollow Man: Director's Cut" coming!

It's out & about in the UK - I've had my copy for a couple of days - Region free, as it plays nicely on my US PS3. I think it looks pretty good, but I've only had a 5 minute dip into it so far & I'm hopelessly un-tech when it comes to pic & sound quality.

Anyone Else Finding SD-DVD lacking after life with HD DVD/Blu-ray?

I've certainly limited my SD buying since experiencing HD, but it's not gone altogether - certain SDs that either probably won't arrive on HD for a while (Warner Film Noir sets) or new releases that I'm pretty desperate to see (Half Nelson, which has only just had a theatrical release here in...

What are your standards for double-dipping up to an HD format?

My criteria are flexible, but the general rule of thumb I use is that if the HD release betters an SD release that I own as a complete package - extras included - then I'll buy. I'm more laid back about new releases & things I've not owned before though. This doesn't always work of course.

    A Few Words About A few words about...™ "Bullitt" -- in HD & Blu-ray

That's a gushing 'few words' :) Excellent news indeed; I can't wait to receive my copy of this - have already palmed the SD off onto a family member in anticipation.

I can't take it anymore, I've jumped to backing Blu-ray!

I know exactly what you mean - I can't help but chuckle when I visit some online boards where people will snap up anything if it has HD DVD or Blu Ray written on it somewhere. Some of the zealotry is hilarious - I've read posts defending higher prices because it makes the next-gen more...

Thoughts from a frustrated HD-DVD supporter

In the UK it's worse - in the shops I've asked in, I've either received blank looks from the staff, been pointed to the DVD section, or the meagre selection that are available are priced at £20-£25 (about $40-$48 US at today's exchange rate.) For something that's only recently launched...

A Few Words About A few words about...™ The Deer Hunter -- in HD

Excellent news indeed, I shall look forward to this one. Has the extra material from the SD release been ported over?

    A Few Words About A few words about...™ Casablanca -- in HD-DVD

Forgive the rather pedestrian question, but does the HD release carry all the extra features of the DVD special edition?

any laserdisc titles still worth owning?

I believe the Criterion of Dead Presidents has extras whereas the DVD releases are barebones. I think only the region 4 DVD is anamorphic as well.
