I will be using a JBL EC35 for the center. I'm setting up a new theater and instead of having the center mounted to the ceiling, I want it lower (the screen will be lower too). How about lifting it off the VCR or DVD player with hockey pucks? It would give it about an inch of space.
Topic says it all. Would it be ok to use a VCR or DVD player to support my center channel? I'm not concerned about the structural support, the speaker isn't that heavy, I'm just wondering if there would be any interference?
I've just seen this company and I am thinking about trying they're banana plugs. http://www.speakerrepair.com/Merchan...ode=AHH_Banana Or does it matter with banana plugs? If its just a "gold connection" will it really affect signal quality?
I was looking at getting the Monster banana quicklock connectors. Is there really a difference in sound between using these and just using the wire without connectors?
Part of the problem I have is that I live in a small city. The most high-end theater store only caries Klipsch and Definitive; Best Buy and Circuit City sells decent speakers like Polk, Infinity, JBL, and Athena. So high end brands like Boston, Fluance, Axiom, Acoustech, and Paradigm I am not...
I've heard the JBL e60s at Best Buy a few months ago. I liked the way they sound. Not a bad price for 3 way floor standing speakers. Right now I'm looking for 4 surround speakers, a left, center, and right. My price limit is $650. I already have my sub. The JBL northridge series fits in that...
I was looking over the Klipsch website, and couldn't find any 3 way floor standing speakers. Do they make 3 way speakers? or am I just not looking in the right place?
Did you get a replacement Toshiba - have you had any other problems with it? Are there any other multi-disc changers that have DVD-A and SACD for under $200? Does it look like one format is becoming more popular than the other?
Turns out I have 2 DVD-A discs (Blue Man Group) and 1 SACD (Pink Floyd). I've been reading up on it and I really can't decide which format I want, so I think I'll get a DVD-A and SACD player. The Yamaha 6760 looks really nice, and I've always had good experiences with Yamaha products. Guess I'll...
I'd prefer to spend under $100, but my limit is $150. Here is what I need it to have: component out fiber optic out progressive scan things I would like, but not required DVD+R/RW compatibility SACD ability and since all my other components are black, it would look nice if this was too...
well, its not so much my home theater, its my parents. I'm buying my dad a new receiver for his birthday, and the sub he has isn't self powered. I'd like to just go ahead and give him a new sub, but due to budget constraints (i.e. broke) I won't be able to just buy him one. I have a subwoofer I...
I'm thinking about getting JBL northridge series. E60 and EC35 for the front and N24s for the back. I don't have any place close to me that sells those models, so I'm going to have to buy them online. Does anyone have any experience with this set up? Or how do JBL speakers in general sound with...
