The region 2, PAL release of "The Quatermass Experiment" from "Hammer" is excellent. It includes a great 23 page viewing notes booklet. Why does "Warner" use those lousy snap cases for some of their "Hammer" horror releases?
Hey Ryan, I got my new PAL to NTSC DVD player and I love it. I just finished watching "The Quatermass Experiment" which is not available on NTSC, region 1.
You know what Ryan, I think I'll spend the extra money and not worry about if the cheaper model has everything I need! In the long run it's not worth the aggrevation.
On the J & R site it says for video output system: PAL-NTSC. That does'nt tell you if it converts when necessary, from one to the other. What do you think?
I actually found one at J & R.com for $92.99. I believe it is the same player, model DV490V-S, but I have to compare since the other seller you suggested called theirs a DV490.
I was looking at a Pioneer Elite DV-45A multi region player and saw that my television must support NTSC & PAL in order to support this player. It said this player does not have a video format converter built in. My question is: why are some multi region players like this and why will some work...
I want to purchase a multi region DVD player that can play PAL, region 2. Does my television have to be compatible with the different encoding the player may send it or does the player convert the encoding to be compatible with my television or does none of that matter? Also, who sells a good...
I recently obtained the MGM release and it runs 84 minutes. It also includes special features which include the cut footage from the original. Some of the cut footage is without the audio portion however which has been lost. Still, it gives you the directors original scenes that were to be...
Does anyone know if the current MGM, DVD release of "Last House On The Left" runs 84 or 91 minutes? BestPrices.com says 84 minutes and Amazon.com says 91 minutes.
I have "Scream Of The Wolf', "Moon Of The Wolf", "How Awful About Allen", "Satan's School For Girls", "Maybe I'll Come Home In The Spring" "Born Innocent" and "Duel" on DVD. These are all I can find that are'nt bootlegs. Anybody have a source? One of the great ones I wish they would put on...
Does anyone remember this movie? It scared me when I first saw it at 8 years old! I cannot find it on any format. I believe it is a British production.
Yes Peter, it is available on VHS but I'll wait till they produce a DVD. I've already waited 40 years to see it again and hopefully it will be on DVD soon! I keep checking Movies Unlimited, Amazon.com and BestPrices.com! Are there any other distributors that you recommend?
Your a better teacher than me. That was an excellent way to put it. My last name is "de Mat" and is pronounced "de Mah". If a "t" is followed by an e that you would enunciate the hard "t".
Your right, the "r" is not silent but more of an "h" sound. It is lightly touched on when you say "noir". It is just like how the French pronounce reservoir as compared to how Americans pronounce reservoir.
