    Video & Audio Interfaces

continue? well the component interface is the only interface provided by time warner. they have crippled the digital DVI connector on the SA boxes - i think intentionally to prevent copying the digital signal.

    Video & Audio Interfaces

I'm considering an Infocus 7205 projector. The product literature indicates that it accepts DVI, Component or VESA video input. My cable company (Time Warner) says their box does not have a DVI connector (SA Explorer) that's enabled. What will I sacrifice by using the Component interface instead...

    Infocus 7205

unfortunately the 7210 is beyond my pricepoint. why would the 4805 have better contrast? isn't it an earlier model? will i be sorry with the 7205, or are there better models in the 3500 pricepoint? thanks for all the advice!!

    Infocus 7205

As prices drop on the Infocus 7205, I am becoming very very enticed. I do not have any modern projector experience though (last unit I had was a Kloss Novabeam 3, which went into the trask a week ago). Does anyone have any experience with this DLP FP? I have heard about rainbow effect and not...

    Speaker Position Confusion

torgny - thanks a million for the quick 'surround' speaker description. that's kinda what i thought. based on the ht systems i've seen in friend's homes, there are lotsa people who seem to think they belong behind the listener. these appear to be the people buying ht-in-a-box lol. one last...

    Speaker Position Confusion

OK - i read what i could find in section III of the ht faqs/basics document (btw - the dolby link is busted) but i'm still confused. i want to assemble a 5.1 ht system. my first question is, where do the 2 rear speakers go? my second question is, are they referred to as 1)Side Surround...

    Center Speaker - Paradigm

Jack - Sorry, newbie still getting use to the site/format. Nick - I'm really glad I held off bidding on the cc-470 especially after reading your post. I'm impressed with the cc-300 specs (esp low end) and will just be patient. I think I'll pass on the 150 but thank you very much for the offer.

    Uninterupted Power Supply (UPS) help!

I think projector cooling after shutdown is needed to save the internal components and case from heat damage. It is possible that latent (stored) heat in the bulb could actually cause the internal projector temperature to rise significantly after bulb shutdown without forced air.

    Center Speaker - Paradigm

You have both confirmed what I thought. I think the cc-470 would most likely make me want to upgrade to studio fronts. That might be a good thing but...If I did that my wife would probably want to kill me...I think I'll wait for a cc-300. BTW - I've purchased a lot of audio equipment on ebay...

    Center Speaker - Paradigm

Hi All, I'm in the process obtaining speakers for a 5.1 HT system. I have not yet purchased the center speaker. Due to budget, I am constrained with purchasing used speakers. So far, I have a pair of Paradigm 9semk3 for the fronts, and a set of 7semk3 for the rears. I also have a pair of NHT...

I absolutely must replace some fans ASAP, any help?

i am also the proud owner of an ashly ftx 1501. if you want to reduce the noise of your fan you can simply insert a 2.2k 5W resistor in series with the fan. this tip was provided to me by the very helpful service staff (mike bow) at ashly. they are wonderful folks, and i believe their amps are...
