I have a Definitive Technology Pro Sub 80 its an 8in sub thats very tight and it goes retail for about 350ish but you can get it for less I bet.

To me the center seemed pointless I really dont think it even helped out the soundfield on movies much at all. I have a set JM Lab Electra mains and had a B&W CM C center ch and the center even though it was still an expensive center but about half the price of the mains it made my set up sound...

Dont worry about the center speaker so many people say its the most important but I find that they tend to detract from the sound. I would just go with a good stero pair but thats me...(i just tryed out a center its not matching which might be part of the problem but i did not like it)

Try the Definitive Technology ProCinima Series ProSub 30 its in the right size range for you and has nice tight bass. I have it set up with my JM Labs speakers and it works very well for reproducing music and dvd's.

Since you have not mentioned a budget I will also have to mirror Mike Duke in advocating JM Lab's cc-900 or cc-901 depending on the size of your mains if you go with the Electra 906 or 907 the 900 would be the fit but if you go with a 927 or 937 the 901 would be the match. I bought a Def Tech Pro Sub 80 today and so far I really like it. For a small 8in unit it is great. I heard the super cube too and it was even more awsome but much more expensive. I have not heard the model that you mentioned tho. But my experience with Def Tech so far has been excellent.

Well if you are a bass freak then get something else other wise a sony sub is not that bad. I mean it only will be handling from about 20-45hz so whatever and If you have tower speakers not even that much of the range so whatever.

Is it just at random or not? Some speakers are known to make some wacky sounds when you have a cell phone that is ringing near by. My guitar amp creates soem wack sounds when the cell phone is around.
