if they are from different manu. I doubt if you will ever be able to match the timbre. this will cause you to be more aware as sound moves from front to the surrounds. it won't be cohesive.
Personally ,I would try my best to timbre match the surrounds to the infinities, check with dealer you got the fronts from, he can recommend an appropiate model. with the yamahas it could be a hit or miss,if it misses you are not going to be happy.
I think an 8ohz would be ideal with these bookshelf speakers any lower would make them work harder , put a bigger demand on the rec. and possibly cause distortion,at 8o cyccles you can't tell where the bass comes from in a properly placed sub. all this of course assumes you have a powered sub, I...
I've seen an awful lot of direct tv/hd tuners for sale lately, and was wondering if these are going to be rendered useless when direct tv switches to mpeg-4 decoding, maybe someone could clarify this for me or dirct me to athread that explains it.
this unit is more than enough for 1 bedroom apt.,if YOU like the sound of the speakers . That's usually a deal maker or breaker when it comes to HTIB's.this would be a good starting syst, until you can afford to or want to spend more money on a better syst.
the volume scale on pioneer only applies to that rec. the scale is not a standard reference level, the only reveiw ,from a creditable source says it put out the wattage advertised.I think there is alot of subjective opinions that are not based on fact that only serves to cloud the issue. it...
I guess it depends on your speaker eff. Iam drivng a 7.1 speaker sys. in a 20x14 room with no problem ,also I don't hear any distortion.by the way what db level are you trying to reach?
buy yourself a nice high-end rec(brand of your choice) and a decent poweramp and be done with it. at this point any other path would be a waste of money, if you really want a better system ,invest in some high-end speakers of your liking, provided your combo can drive them.
I think the dn dvd will work, but you have to program the remote manually on the pioneer 1014, i could be wrong but, I'm pretty sure the op. manual can instruct you how to do it.
yes you do need some sort of bass management, such as the outlaw icbm, neither this rec or dvd player offers it as with alot of other rec. dvd-a &sacd aren't selling that well and probably be dropped in the near future so don't expect manuf to support it , I hope I'm wrong.
by one purple jack i'm assuming it is a RCA jack?, if so run a single cable from your rec. to the amp. MY question is, does your plate amp have 2 spkr out jacks?and can it drive both shakers safely?YOU may need another amp to drive both shakers, you can do this with "y" splitter cable( one in...
Mike, I built two of these using almost the same dems. as you listed above ,only difference was I used 2 display cubes (3/4" mdf)that i bought at a hotel liquidator for 10.00 each, only had to make the front plate for the quattro , braced side to side, top to bottom ,front to back all offset...
Alot of people replaced their pioneer vsx-811's when the 1014&1015 came out , you should be able to find one of these for 200.00 or less used, I thought it was a good value at the time, in fact still use it in a bedroom system.Look over this site's hardware 4 sale, avs& audiogon, hey you might...
the only validty it has is for you and you alone wether I like it or not , this is hardly a scientific or logical evaluation ,under dubious circumstance relying on several variables, if you don't like it(the rec,) that is fine , but to imply it is somehow lacking in ability only applies to these...
no one said i didn't like it , i said it has no basis in fact or truth just your opinion and you are entitled to it , after all this is America , on the the other hand such vague statements need to be refutted. I am entitled to my reveiw of your opinion as well. TO make such outlandish...
all these tests(?) are purely subjective and NOWHERE based on fact , purely personal, just muddies the truth.Size of room, speakers, as well as source material is a big influence on preceived validation of opinions. Like all equip., it either suits your preference or it don't , without a...
look on the back of the equip. there should be a production date, my cousin still uses his from the same era, works fine. a lot of people over at audiokarma covet this stuff.
sounds like a speaker wire might be lose on the back of the rec. i suggest checking all the connections , it may as small as a single strand touching another wire or terminal, then check all connections on each speaker... hope this helps.
yes send the bass to the sub , better dynamics , easier on the rec.,and often better clarity(I recommend about 100 hz), this will keep the bass from being localized in other words it won't sound like it is coming from the sub, of course location of the subwoofer will have an effect on...
