I think sites like this would be great for those of us who wanna know when the next season of something is coming, so in case then someone who really wants another Who's The Boss set or something knows how many copies to buy as presents to get Sony to say season 2 is on the way
I can't wait to get the set, but however, I wish Stephanie Zimbalist was on the cover as well, the show was very much about the both of them, as opposed to a Pierce Brosnan tv vehicle.
well, I heard that all the other principals were ready to sign for a sixth season except Randy. Why not kill Justin off, or have him ship away to a school outside of Pittsburgh? The show could go on without him IMO
Showtime did similar packing on The L Word. However, I think they should reissue the entire series with slimcases, I hate digipacks, especially with packaging as complicated as the QAF sets. And how about dropping the price a bit? $100+ for 12 episodes is way too much IMO. L Word is Showtime...
why are music snobs so snobby over DualDisc? it irks them that an average person can enjoy high-res music instead of blowing $300 on a SACD player when 90% of your favorite music isn't even available on SACD or DVD-A? like it or not, DualDisc is to SACD/DVD-A what DVD was to laserdisc... taking...
god I hope so. But you know how fans of 80's sitcoms (not counting Cosby Show and Cheers) always get screwed. Nick At Nite spent about a whole year on our shows in between the decade of 70's shows and the past 2 or 3 years devoted to 90's shows. Give me the complete runs of Gimme A Break...
well, at least from myself and many other people I know who are bigger Buffy fans, the first four seasons are best, especially season 3 (which was also Doherty's last year). Starting with the fifth season, it became more and more fantasy to the point that I don't think it has the appeal that it...
as long as Sony can find it in their hearts to continue Diff'rent Strokes up through the sixth season and release Facts Of Life, I'll be A-OK with them... since I know Seinfeld's not in any danger
give it some time, season 3 just came out in Jan, there's a lot of Sony shows from last year that haven't had more said about, Barney Miller, Charlie's Angels, Diff'rent Strokes, Who's The Boss and 227 come to mind.
I received a review copy of Murder She Wrote a few weeks ago, I don't think I need more than maybe 2 or 3 seasons of the show. I abandoned Friends after season 7 because I didn't like the last few seasons. If Sony gives us more Diff'rent Strokes, I will probably stop after the sixth...
I agree with this totally. I loved season 1, and season 2 had some okay episodes, but around 10 episodes into s2, I was bored with it and haven't watched since, it's been shelved for about 8 months and I have yet to come back to it
count me in I would like to see a 10 disc set (of course, not in a digipack), with a disc of the best episodes of each season (and I know WB did a "Best of" set for seasons 1-4, but left out the most classic episodes of those respective seasons)
I think it's all opinion, while I agree that the apex of the Pretenders' career came in their first 5 years and 3 albums (1980-1984), I think they've definately kept making good music, even if only 3 people buy their newer product. Chrissie and the ever-rotating door of other members had song...
I was so stunned to see Wing on the show. I have been in love with her for a year now, her singing is so bad it's golden. I don't know how her "Close To You" couldn't cause hairs to stand. The fact alone that Matt and Trey know who Wing is makes this episode redeemed after two not so hot...
well, I think the Heads get the treatment they get, along with The Police, is because they broke up when people were still hungry for more music. If Rush called it a day after Moving Pictures or Signals, they would be regarded in that legendary league. Same as if The Police had stayed together...
I have to make one comment. Why do people have to be fan-nazis against genres of music they dislike? it's pretty sad so many people have such closed minds against other types of music, instead of accepting there's good in every genre. People who like heavy metal are bashing soul and pop...
you are definately not a videophile. If you educate yourself about widescreen, you'd refuse to support movies in any format except, buying a movie in fullscreen instead of a widescreen option is like buying an edited version of a CD instead of the uncensored.
you're saying tv on DVD is a flop? Granted, most shows perform less than 1 million, but you cannot say that Seinfeld, The Simpsons, Sex And The City, Family Guy, Chappelle's Show and The Sopranos were not phenomenal successes on DVD. Ok, Desperate Housewives won't sell like The Incredibles is...
that is true, but DH is a guarenteed seller, it's not just some (as Sony quotes it) "niche title". I think DH will sell more than some of the film titles that are offered in seperate widescreen/fullscreen sets, I mean, do they really think SAW is a bigger title than Desperate Housewives?
umm, I don't mean on the same set. Movie titles all the time are offered in seperate Widescreen and Fullscreen options, I don't see why if they press 1 million DH sets, maybe 800,000 Widescreen copies and 200,000 Fullscreen copies would be a failure. Next time you go to Best Buy, you'll be...
god, this is a DVD forum, educate yourself, I haven't had to deal with stuff like this since my days working retail at Target. I wonder, do you buy edited versions of music cd's at Wal-Mart? that is about the same as buying fullscreen DVD's when there's a widescreen copy available. All I can say.
actually Mike Judge was cool about the situation from what I read. IIRC, he seemed to have no problem that fans would have to resort to boots to get the episodes the way they remember it, because it's not like any company would actually sell the episodes with entact videos. If people were...
does anyone think Shout!Factory could work wonders with B&B on DVD? If they successfully cleared rights for Freaks And Geeks, and if Universal cleared rights for Miami Vice, is Beavis And Butt-Head THAT dificult?
well, if you don't like it... DON'T BUY IT!!! I for one, consider Full House to be probably the stupidest most banal sitcom to ever grace the airwaves, but I do realize that while I'd never go 100 feet near the DVD, there are plenty of people who love it. Same needs to apply for you and Ally...
I am sure some bands could license their videos, I am sure Rob Zombie would since he animated a sequence in the movie, it shouldn't be too difficult to get other bands who B&B thought "ruled", but I highly doubt we'd see Winger and other "suck" bands giving their thumbs up, lol
