Can you describe your speaker/HT lifecycle?

Nice posts. I've been working so much that I haven't had much chance to listen to to my HT at all. As soon as I slow down, an upgrade to the SVS sub is gonna be sweet! Robb - let's do the brewery again! :emoji_thumbsup:

I need to brag a bit

I heard of someone who got a $500 Monster power conditioner for about $15 ;)

Can you describe your speaker/HT lifecycle?

Robb, thanks for letting my family the opportunity to audition your SVS PB-2 Ultra today!! I only have two words to describe the experience: "Blown-away" The PB-2 Ultra is so sweet, it almost blows my mind how tight and powerful it is. I have now heard low frequency detail that I have...

quote: "My room is 7000+ cu. ft." Wow, that seems pretty big. What's the square footage of the room?

    Woof-Mania/Sub-Age Overkill Observation!

To me, it will be enough bass when I feel like I have as much bass as a good movie theater :b My only dillema is that my wife is already scared of the amount of bass my KSW-12 makes. My problem is that I need much more tighter bass. How to compromise? A dedicated home theater room??

$2500 to pre-wire house, worth it?

Thanks all, and Mike, I fully agree. It's a very upscale house and that is perhaps why the cost is so high... But I will tell my friend to take video and a ton of photos if the builder won't let sub-contractors come in.

    Woof-Mania/Sub-Age Overkill Observation!

Great thread. I like to be considered a Bass head because I love bass. And besides, I've got the money, why not? :D

$2500 to pre-wire house, worth it?

Thanks everyone for the replies. This is for my friend who is getting a new house built. He's not sure if the builder will allow third parties to wire the house. But if the builder is going to allow third parties, we will explore the suggestions posted. Thanks again!

Can you describe your speaker/HT lifecycle?

Thanks Frank for the advice. :) I've been listening to the KSW-12 sub for a couple of days now, and I'm happy with it, not ecstatic, but happy. I've listened to my friend's Carver Sunfire, and it was nice. Then my friend upgraded to a Snell hand made subwoofer, and I was blown away. During...

Add a Dayton sub and I guess it's a done deal. I'm really intrigued with the Fluance package. It might just do well in the home office...

    looking for 5.1 speakers

$400 is really too cheap, but if you have to stretch, go for the Athena Micra 6 system, about $500 at Best Buy. I was going to buy that, until I heard the Klipsch Synergy speakers, and spent 3-4 times as much.

$2500 to pre-wire house, worth it?

Thanks for the replies. I don't have the dimensions of the room and specifics of the offer, but I felt $2,500 was way too high (it's more expensive than my Klipsch Synergy series sounds sytem with the Yamaha 5760 altogether!). Thanks for confirming that.

Got the Klipsch 35's waiting on the SVS

Congrats on your purchase, you're going to be very happy. I got the Klipsch Synergy Series and even though it's not as highly regarded as the Reference series, I love the speakers so far. I think you will love the sound when the system is complete. I'm confused about your DVD literature...

$2500 to pre-wire house, worth it?

My friend is getting his house built, and the builder is offering to pre-wire the family room area for $2,500. I've never personally liked in-wall / in-ceiling speakers, and I think that is awfully expensive. My friend is leaning away from pre-wire. What do you guys think? Is $2,500 to...

Need Help: Acoustech, Axiom, or Klipsch

Hi Ken, I just set up my Yamaha HTR 5760 with my Klipsch Synergy SF-3 speakers, SC-1 center, and SS-1 surrounds. The speakers definitely sound brighter, but for home theater I think it is fine to my ears. Good luck, Frank

Can you describe your speaker/HT lifecycle?

Wow, some nice upgrades!!! Nice photo Kevin! Well, I finally got my subwoofer and center speaker yesterday. As soon as I got them I ripped open the packages, and set up my 5.1 system (need to figure out where my 2 additional SS-1 surrounds will go). I have to honestly say I'm blown away...

Can you describe your speaker/HT lifecycle?

Yes, that is a huge problem, because it's infectious. I've caught the disease now, and must restrain myself. Instead of thinking "wow, I really love this system", I'll now be thinking of "hmmm, I wonder what I can do to improve the sound". The problem for me is that I'm also a huge car...

Can you describe your speaker/HT lifecycle?

Yes I know. I had to please my wife by buying the 2 leather sofas though. She likes furniture far more than audio equipment. Plus I'm still a newbie in terms of audio ownership, so maybe I need to break in with the Synergy series first, and then let the upgrade curve take off from there. :)...

Can you describe your speaker/HT lifecycle?

I think I am at the very beginning of my lifecycle of an audio/HT nut. I have read countless threads on many forums about speaker choices, subs, etc. Almost too many. I think it would be fascinating to discover how other fellow audio & HT nuts began their journey of discovery on the myriad of...

    Klipsch on-line dealers? RSW-12 v ??

Let me know how you like your Klipsch set up. I am going with the Best Buy SF-3 Klipsch set up for my first home theater. My original budget was $1,000, with the Yamaha 5760 and the Athena Micra 6 series. But I ended up with total $2000 SF-3 package. Hopefully this will satisify the need for...

Possibly Buying Yamaha/Polk/Rocket for my setup. Suggestions?

Hi Matt, I think I went through nearly the same process as you. I ended up buying Klipsch package from Best Buy for $1900, including the 5760 receiver. You can see my thread about home theater set up. My room is not set up for in-wall speakers, so I had to go with bookshelf speakers. Good...

2 additional surrounds to go from 5.1 to 7.1 question

2 additional surrounds to go from 5.1 to 7.1 question

Do the two additional surround sound speakers need to be very powerful / high end? I have 2 SS-1's with my 5.1 speaker system. I accidentally bought 2 additional SS-1's (there were 2 in each box, although the Best Buy sales rep thought there were only one per box). Do I need to keep the...

New home theater set up - is this a decent configuration?

Thanks again for the replies. I just bought the set up last week, so I have a few weeks to try them out and return if I don't like them. I agree with you all about the sub-woofer, but it's part of the package and I save some money with the package. After a while, I will probably upgrade to a...

New home theater set up - is this a decent configuration?

Thank you Marty. Being relatively new to home theater I welcome all opinions. I also want to know if I am making a terrible decision (like someone going to spend wads of money on a Bose acoustimass system ;) )

New home theater set up - is this a decent configuration?

Hi all, I am setting up my first home theater ever, in a new home that I moved into. The room is 15' wide by 20' long, but the entertainment area will be about 10' long (part of a great room with a kitchen / nook area), with tile floors through out, and a 8' by 10' rug in the entertainment...
