no picture. I got to the dvd menu and set it to progressive Thur the video connection my old player had a switch in the back that made it work, this Yamaha doesn't have a switch in the back. didn't see any of what you said on the dvd menu yet.

i got the def tech speakers and a Yamaha dv-c6760 DVD and have problems getting the component signal to go thou to the X1 projector from the DVD. speakers: fronts-bp7006 w/powered sub center-clr2002 w/powered sub rears-bp 1.2x DVD player-yamaha dv-c6760 AVR-denon 5700 so what ya think

Audio Definitive's are the speakers i am looking at now with a $199 Yamaha 5 dvd player.

That makes sense. but i would give up that SACD for a 5 disc changer. but also i want the best picture and sound for movies mainly.

i got have the denon 5700 now and looking at DVDs now. for the dvd does it need to be able to read DTS even if the avr does? and is the 1080i something i should look at with the dvd also. i want this system of a X1 projector and denon avr to have: DTS SACD thx (would be cool) progesive...

i have a problem with my component signal i have a 16' thx that works great but when i used a 25' cable it had a jump (shimmer)in the picture every 30 seconds or so. i returned the cable got a new one and still had the problem. some people said it is the signal from the dvd that it is too weak...

i said this before but i am at about $1200 with a x1 from ebay last January for $850. built my own screen for $10 4x8 1/2 blue board for $9.25. i looked into screen paint and it was as much as a screen.

talked to the guy at bluejeanscables for about 20 min. and he answered all my questions i strongly recomend this place. i will be returning the cheap cable for a new one if it still don't work i will get a better cable from bluejean. thanks for all the help and info.

I don't know if any one is still reading this thread but the company I bought the cheap component cable from offered to exchange it for a new one. What i really wanted to post was his response, he said "It could be a bad cable or my DVD player is not giving a strong enough signal to go 25'"...
