Hello once again, I am looking to build a pair of book shelf speakers. I would like them to be as full as possible because i will not be using a subwoofer. It is going to be stereo only. The reicever that i will be using is the NAD C352. Does anyone have any suggestions? They will be used for...

    Funny Driver noise - vibration

I changed the driver out this noon and no more strange sound. It definitly was the driver. How often do you get bad drivers? Oh well, the speakers sound amazing, so full and beautiful! :):D

    Funny Driver noise - vibration

That is what I planned on doing tonight, i am hoping it is the driver because i have no idea what it would be wrong with the crossover wiring, i double checked it a few times and all looked well.

    Funny Driver noise - vibration

I have a quick question. I built wayne J's veritas and started to use them last week. One of my Mid drivers seems to be making a a funny noise. During play it is not as clear as the other mid range driver. There seems to be a bit of a raspy sound to it. Would this be because of something not...

    Veneer question

Matt, what i am going to do is using my flush triming bit on my rotozip to cut out the inner hole and then switch to a 1/4 trim bit and get as close as i can to the sides of the outer diamater hole by just working slowly with my rotozip. After that i will sand the edges to get super close. I...

    Wayne J's Veritas Crossover Question

I have a quick question on the crossover schematic for this speaker. The diagram for the tweeter crossover says the positive reciver input should go to the negative speaker input. Is this correct? I imagine it has something to do with the phase of the ribbon tweeter.

To build a HT sub or to keep my SVS

I think people are taking this thread the wrong way. Building speakers is a hobby of mine so i do not account for the time or labor at all. I enjoy doing it. So there is no sub out there right now for around 700 dollars in parts not including wood that would blow the doors off of my current sub...

To build a HT sub or to keep my SVS

The DIY bug has bitten me and has done it hard. Right now i own a SVS PCI 20-39. I am happy with this sub but i feel like there has to be something better out there. The sub is used mainly for Hometheater but when I through parties it is used for music. The room size is fairly large, 20 x 30 or...

Lining Speaker Cabinets with black hole 5?

Thanks for the answers but i need to be more specific. The cabinet i built is sealed. SHould i still line the sides with an egg crate type of material? I was wondering if it is a gereral rule that with all MDF cabinets you should like the insides with some type of material.
