Does this single edition (or the 2-disc edition) have both DTS-ES 6.1 discret and full bitrate or not ?

Yep ! That's my point !!!!! The 5.1 AC3 on the LD is the best audio presentation for this movie, to date ! As is the SW EP1 5.1EX presentation on the Japan LD !

Jeff, Sorry, it's worth that I thought... there are NO ENGLISH subtitles and you can't even switch off the french ones (that are on the image)... :frowning: If you can live with it (french subtitles are small), the DTS sound is striking !

Hi Jeff, I'm gonna check. As for the french edition, when you're encoding DTS tracks to DVD, you may choose "soft" or "hard" encoding. Generally, studios choose "soft"...but here, "hard" as been employed, and you'll hear the difference on high ends materials !

Hi everybody, I've got the R2 japan version and tried the R2 french version lately... The French version (apart from the extended cut only available in japan) has a better image and a stunning DTS track ! Far far better sounding than the Japan version ! I haven't tried R1 and R2 UK DVDs...

Yeah... that is a shame, here in france we don't see the point of english subs, because we don't realise that english speaking people will be interested by our products ! Too bad !

Hi guys, My point is that the LD track (dolby 5.1) is a bit better than the DVD R2 track (DTS) witch is better than the DVD tracks (dolby 5.1) of any Regions :) CraigL... it seems important to me to notice that some LD tracks (bought years ago !) sound better than todays reissues !!!
