    Veritas 2.3's or Swan 5.1's

The Veritas line is far far superior to anything from Swan and Dana's for that matter. But since it's for a bedroom - I'd go with the cheaper Swans as well. I'd save the Veritas for a 'real' system.

    Vote: Pick My Next Sub

Of course he does - he's a shill for SVS :) To be honest - this kind of posting IMO really hurts the SVS brand. If the sub is "so freaking good" then why do people always suggest "Dual" subs? No matter your answer Sherrard - I read a response like that as "a single sub is not good enough to...

    SVS's mid-line MTS-01's announced

Really - no offense, but lets say I'm from Missouri. SHOW ME . Have you heard the components? Have you seen the actual price of these components? Hey, I'm just playing devils advocate here. Tell you what though - those speakers better sound a lot better than they look if they hope to sell a...

    Bright sounding speakers

Sorry Mikeli, but the 750sigs are not forward sound at all. In fact, I will gladly refernce countless posts of how the 750's are 'laid back'. Even the Rocket people will tell you if you want a more forward speaker in the Rocket line, the 550 is the way to go. I've heard both 550's and 750's...

    Bright sounding speakers

How did the 750's from Rocket end up on this thread? The poster is looking for a 'bright' speaker. Axiom has been mentioned, and I can very gladly find many many threads and posts on how the Axioms are 'bright and forward' and the 750's are 'warm and laid back' and futher offer two totally...

    Blue Jean speaker cable

Which gauge? I have the 10 gauge myself (5T00UP) and no, it is not very flexible for 'tucking' into corners. I could only imagine the same for the 12 gauge, I'm sure it would be a bit more forgiving, but this is grade A quality wire. If you want flexibilty and the ability to 'tuck' it somewhere...

    Paradigm Studio 40s

Probably just wants to make more money off you. What gauge are you currently running, and how long is your speaker wire? Just so you know, if it's less than 50 feet per speaker, you can run 16 gauge without a problem. And if you do need speaker wire - and the dealer is pushing it on you, I...

Swans an upgrade from Polk RTI line?

Meeks - glad to 'hear' you like them. Mikey B, I think you're misunderstanding me a little bit. Of course, reading my post certainly doesn't help the matter. I am making an attack of a sort to be sure, the speakers that 'sound like crap' to me are an example of one such product you find on...

Swans an upgrade from Polk RTI line?

"Letting a girl know she is not your cup of tea for whatever reasons is one thing, but telling her she hit every ugly stick possible while falling out of a tree is going over the top more than just a bit....and unneccessary (for you analogy fans)." LOL - that's a good one!!! And of course...

Swans an upgrade from Polk RTI line?

Hi Don - I was also considering Axiom since they are a Canadian company. However, I had read that they were on the 'bright' side, therefore I crossed them off my list as a 'bright' speaker would not work very well in my room. That being said, I have never heard their speakers (although I...

Swans an upgrade from Polk RTI line?

Oops, one more thing - I only compared the RT800i's directly to the 340's. I did not compare the CS400i to the Ascend 340 center. I have always found the CS400i to be a bit boxy sounding, and also a bit on the warm side, but it was HUGE step up from my 10 year old Yamaha center, so I never...

Swans an upgrade from Polk RTI line?

meeks - I recently upgraded my Polk setup (RT800i and CS400i) to the CMT340's from Ascend Acoustics. A very very nice upgrade indeed, sound stage and detail are much better now. The actual tone is not that different though. The RT###i line is more to the neutral side (though Ascends have it beat...
